About me

I am a Xin Zhao main who plays over 400 games with him as either mid or adc and average 20+ kills per game.

Why Xin Zhao mid?

Xin Zhao is a great mid laner for many reasons. Firstly, he has mobility and a great engage. This means he can beat many mid laners like Xerath (though you gotta watch out for his Q), Katarina, Brand and Lux.

Secondly, Xin Zhao can roam and can pick up the slack if the jungler isn't ganking or if bot lane and top lane are both falling behind and the jg needs to gank top while you gank bot (Xin is better ganking ADCs than tanky top laners).

He will however lose against Heimerdinger so ban him.

Ganking

Gank bot as much as you can. If you are losing mid lane, ganking bot will also put you ahead and also help bot lane at the same time.

Don't gank top as much, except if you need to get that 1 kill off of the top laner for masteries purposes. Xin Zhao really isn't that great against tanks like Malphite or Darius.
