early on you want to play aggressive so you can get the items that you need to become a pentakill machine. that is why i take " Three Talon Stike " first its gives a massive advantage to the early game simply because of increased damage and a knockup. when you are laning with another AD champion like Master Yi or Pantheon i reccomend timing your attacks at the correct moment to gain the early kills since Xin Zhao is really item depended late game but not so much early .

when the game is reaching around mid-time you should have around 2-5 kills and atleast have your Black cleaver this is when Xin really starts to shine. When engaging a fight make sure to always activate " Battle Cry " Just before you Charge in with " Audacious Charge " Once engaged use " Crescent Sweep" and " Three Talon Stike " to Critacally wound the Foe and knock them up , they should be on around enough health for you to be able to kill them with auto attacks but if not follow them and finish off with " Audacious Charge " when it comes of cooldown

by the time it comes to late game your Crits should be around the 1k mark and your lifesteal from bloodthirster and your passive should heal you through any thing, in team fights you or the tank should be engaging first and because of your amazing attack speed you'll be getting penta kills all day.
