This xin build is for any type of player whatever type of xin you want to play, whatever xin you want to play it does the job cleaning up with ghost and ignite or getting them low with ignite.

zeal is pretty essential early game so you can be on top of your opponent then get fed =Win.
Every pair of boots has its own thing but attack speed is Xin's key. You want lots of it. Starting off with a dagger helps you heal faster with your passive and get your three talon strike in quickly for early ganks.
last whisper is very good early game so you can penetrate there armour

Summoner spells can vary like pretty much everything in this build from exhaust and ignite, flash and exhaust, flash and ignite all different combinations for the different ways you choose to play him.My number one choices for Xin's spells are definitely ghost and exhaust. You can argue the benefits of almost any spell, but these two are standouts for the style of play that this build suggests. I'm talking about getting your *** moving, while slowing down the enemy as much as possible.

Exhaust is key to this build. Your number one difficulty as Xin will be keeping your enemies from running so that you can unload on them. You already have a slow and a knock up, but exhaust is the icing on the cake. A lot of kills will come from chasing down enemies as they are running away. The speed you get Trinity Force, Phantom Dancer, and ghost help, but exhaust is what will make your enemy's escape downright impossible. Exhaust is also great for one on one fights with another powerful melee character. The reduced damage from the enemy can often times tip the scale in your favor. With the mastery points set as they are, you will also be reducing armor and magic resist for that extra little pow.

Ghost is another must-have. The vast majority of your kills early game will come from chasing enemies in your lane who you've already weakened. Late game, although you won't have a problem catching people because of your items, ghost let's you get to the other side of the map in a hurry, or chase down other people using ghost. Using this build, I have literally chased down slower enemies using ghost that have also exhausted me. That's the crazy speed we are talking here. Like I said, this build is all about getting to enemies quickly, slowing them down, and unloading your damage.

Another important thing to remember is that Xin has no real escape mechanism besides his speed. That being said, you can sometimes avoid ganks by using ghost and exhaust defensively. Don't be afraid to avoid your death by popping exhaust on the nearby carry and ghosting out of there.

Other Options


Flash is a decent substitute for ghost. It can get you to a spot fast and save your *** from huge ganks. I still think ghost compliments this build more consistently, but feel free to make that swap.

Ignite can also be put in for those early kills, but in my experience the ghost/exhaust combo has allowed me to finish off most opponents. If you see the enemy team has a Dr. Mundo or Vladimir, then this spell becomes much more valuable. Don't underestimate the healing reduction it gives.

Teleport can be extremely useful on 5v5 for getting around, so you may need to make that change for ghost. Hopefully a tank has teleport instead, and you don't have to sacrifice that killing power.

Cleanse is never a bad idea on any champion, but your focus here should really be bringing the pain to the enemy. It can be extremely useful to diminish your vulnerability to CC if you are facing a Lux or a team with a lot of slows and stuns. Use your judgment based on the other teams champions.

Pros: Very effective for cleaning up.
Does good burst damage.
A very good carry
Good pushes in bursts because of passive
Even if stunned can pick up where they left off and go in for the kill.


Cons: If you chase get picked off easily on ganks

Farming and Jungling is really easy and ganks are easy at early levels because they dont suspect it but it does lots of damage at early levels like level three always go for Blue buff first then work your way up to Red Buff then start ganking

Any attack damage, and attack items are good with xin if you need to get more armour penetration for those tankier characters like Cho'Gath and Rammus switch your'e Frozen mallet for a Youmuu's GhostBlade

1v1 (Top / Mid)
My favorite setup. Farm patiently (You have NO ranged) and if they try to harass you, just
tower-hug and auto attack when possible. Mid is alright, Not bad, but save it for a AP / Carry.

2v1
Not that bad but you will get harassed very quickly. Farm patiently and tower-hug. They will
be extremely aggressive and will try to aggressively harass you. If they get greedy you can sometimes turn tides.

2v2
Okay. You might not get fed without someone with a stun

Playing with your teammates is easy as xin let your team mates get the disables and then let xin do his work. Like this example their team was at baron (we warded)we went up the rest of my team team went and got hit by the disables while I came around and got a penta kill (five kills in a short amount of time)

"Xin Zhao prepares to unleash a fearsome combo, causing his next 3 standard attacks to deal bonus damage with the final attack knocking his opponent into the air."
Knock-up! This skill is your bread and butter which we max first. This skill resets the auto-attack timer. So you auto-attack and hit q.
"(Passive): Xin Zhao passively increases his attack speed."
That's very good. By just learning it you get 20% attack-speed for free.
"(Active): Xin Zhao unleashes a battle cry, increasing his attack speed by passive amount again for 5 seconds and causing his standard attacks during this time to reduce all of his other abilities' cooldowns by 1 second."
You know what that means? When you activate the active, your Battle Cry passive DOUBLES. And every time you attack when the active is on, all your skill's cooldown gets reduced by 1 second. This is why most Xins stack attack speed.
"Xin Zhao charges an enemy, dealing magic damage and slowing them and all other enemies in the area for 1.5 seconds."
This is how you get from point A to point B in 1 second. At max level it does 240 damage FLAT. At level 1 it only does 70 damage. Don't max it out first. Three Talon Strike does more damage. About like, 200 per hit. (At max level)
"Xin Zhao executes a fierce spear sweep on targets around him, dealing base damage + 15% of their current health in physical damage. His armor and magic resistance are boosted for 6 seconds by 25 plus a bonus per enemy champion hit."
This saves your life in team fights. It gives you 25 armor and 25 magic resist just by activating it! Plus, every champion hit gives you more armor and magic resist. It also takes away 15% of their health. You can reduce the enemy team's health by 15%.
