I recently tried (new) Urgot for the first time while he has been free this week, and have taken an unusual shine to his playstyle (unlike my useless attempts at Jax and Renekton the week before)
I picked him as an emergency as my Quinn pick got banned and had to use my Cho'gath masteries, which have worked out very well for me thus far, and was wondering if there is a reason people are taking significantly different masteries, and if,in my noobness, if am missing something really obvious.

Also, I have been against Zed, Jax, Mordekaiser and Renekton so far; of these match ups, I won lane very easily with the exceptions of the Mordekaiser game (Which I lost horrifically)
Early game I was killed when the enemy jungler, specifically by Lee Sin, ganked, but I would still win in the long run.
Anyway, I was wondering why I struggled so much against Mordekaiser and Lee Sin, and if you have any tips for fighting other tanks, if at all.

I personally really like your guide so far but why do you take Fury and not Sorcery? I think Urgot has enough attack speed to shoot out all shotguns in a fight(in my opinion of course), so why not take the extra ability damage? :D

The masteries that you can see in my guide are the overall masteries. I am planned to show different masteries later in the guide.

Just to give you a quick explenation of fury against sorcery: Fury is what I take if I need to poke down my opponent with auto attacks. I take sorcery whenever I feel like trading with abilities is way more important. It depends on each matchup.

I understand your point and I will definitly add it into the guide as a second option. Thanks for the feedback!

I personally like to take my E second. I don't find myself in situations to use my W effectively at that point. With my E second when they come in for a creep you can E them, Q them while they are stunned and get a few passive shots off as they back off.

With W second all i can really do it use it for the shield if they try to fight me.

In some Matchups I would even go E first, for ex. against Nasus, you can auto hit him with the three first shotguns, then E him and try to shoot him with the others, which puts some pressure on him or he has to go base maybe even dies.
