I wonder if taking all AD quints and reds would be strong in lane and scale better into late game with crit and Last Whisper.

If you take a look at the math I did you will notice that, mid - late game, armor penetration makes a world of difference. It doesn't matter what dps u go for if it's getting cut in half because of there armor... So I think having ArP is crucial.
Of course... flat armor penetration and % armor penetration cannot reduce the target's armor below 0, however Armor reduction can. So going overboard on ArP is pointless... lol
