Is there a way to include audio tracks in guides, similar to how soundcloud.com uses their audio recordings? As in, if i have a recording of me talking about a topic and I want to have that recording linked to the guide (not a video), is there a way for me to do this?

Not to my knowledge, no, sorry. Would it be possible to just make it into a video to upload to YouTube and just ask readers to press play and listen?

Yeah, I could do that. It's just that I thought it would be better to have a nice thin horizontal play button than a big blocky video. Ty anyway :]
