And then there are those champs which are so set in stone that the currently highest rated guide is the only one people bother looking at.. It all depends on timing/luck and such.. Ofc it helps alot to have some friends or something who are here aswell who can help you get the rating up to some reasonable levels, then the guide can do the rest of the work if it is actually good enough. However all it takes is 2-3 troll votes and your guide will need 7-10ish votes before it reaches any fair level of score.

Actually I find that to be a bit flawed, I dont have any idea of how it is done currently, but it seems that when your guide starts out it with getting 1 or maybe 2 votes then you are doomed if both of those are -1 as the guide will then have a ****ty score right?

Ill post my thoughts in a lil bit.. But I think it all depends on how much you put into the guide. And add some personality to it.

Another way to get guides noticed is too be active on the site.

If you post in the forums every day and are pretty known, your guides will be noticed. Take Trojan for example. I bet that if he posted a guide right now, it would get a lot of attention because we all know him, so we want to see what he has done.

Proof that this helps can be found in, say, me for example. My first guide was when I was completely new to the site. It got no attention. Then my second guide got a bit more, my third got got a tad but more, my fourth guide spiked up, and my most recent guide shot right up to number 1.

Just be active every day if possible, and when people open the site, they will see the most recent guides and say "Hey, he made a guide. Let's check this out"

Just make it known if you are a cool person or not, and then once you have a few friends on here, they tend to pass a vote to your guide, which gets it noticed.

Teamwork is essential. It gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.

ok time for my deep thoughts

1. Find who you want to notice your guide. What I mean by this, is find a playstyle you are comfy with and build on that. If you like Hybrids, than find those champs that are, or have the potential to be hybrids. If you like tanks, make tanks. Once you find your strength build on it.

2. Be unique. This is important. This site is full of guides that are basically the same. Popular champs for this 'spam': Akali in AP and Hybrid, Eve in AP, and Shen is solid tank. If you build something that is different, yet not completely off base, my TANKEON for example. Make things that people will remember.

3. Flamers, Trolls, and the narrow minded are out there. Never be brought down if/when you get a -1 for any reason. When you get a 'OMG thats not how <insert said champ> is suppose to be played.' and things like that, just laugh it off. They just mad cuz you are exploring new things. Now there are those -1s that come with good reason.

4. Like Shadow said, be active. Let people know you are here. But make sure that you arent flaming or trolling. No one likes a troll. 'Make friends' to help. Once you post a guide, tell people you know to check it out. Make sure you have played the guide with these people. It helps since they know its viable.

5. Be able to defend your-self. You have to be able to take the abuse from those that will ridacule (SP) you. If you cant explain why you made the decisions you did, than you lose credibility. And every guide you post from there on, might not gain much recognition.

6. Get Vet attention. Now this is tougher than the others. Each Vet looks for something different.

Ummmmm anything else?

@ Chaotic

Yeah, make sure you try to avoid lazy words such as "cuz" its easy, "u" should be able to, with that you are "pwng"", you should be getting my point by now.

Also make sure it doesn't contain much grammar failures, when people see stuff like:

You must flash get cuz it good for wall and going enemy.....

Well people will either laugh at you, ignore you or troll you for this hardcore style.

You should not only be able to defend yourself, that is only nessecary when people don't understand you or just don't agree, the build should be self explanatory enough to prevent this (except for those rare cases who just can't read, are to lazy or just like trolling).

Sorry I just came back from a 4 day trip, thank you for the feedback, what I am saying is why can't Mobafire change the default search settings, such as like instead of just showing guides as the default search why can't it be both builds and guides?
