It's really situational.
Merc Treads 90% of the time.
If their team has a substantial amount of physical DPS (Tryndamere, Ashe, Sivir, Master Yi, etc), get Ninja Tabi.
If and only if your team is winning and you don't feel like they put out enough damage or CC to justify either Ninja Tabi or Merc Treads, THEN you can get Boots of Swiftness or even Ionian Boots of Lucidity.
Sorc Shoes I just find to be a waste - if you want to build more offensively on Amumu, get an Abyssal Scepter.

Lol no ninja tabis! And alright the crowd control reduction would be very helpful too. Just nice to chase down with Boots of Swiftness and land a Bandage Toss after a fight.
I would get Ninja Tabi 0-0... But, if there are no good AD carries on the enemy team, I get Swiftness Boots. Unless there ARE a TON of CC. Then I get Merc...
Thanks to Scrax for my Evelynn Sig.I did the Yi, Anivia, and Udyr Sig.

sorc boots are bad on mumu for reasons stated earlier
I still do not think Sorc boots are bad. The other options may fit better in some situations, but any tanky characters on the other team will probably have more than 80 magic resist, even if they just buy a Banshee's Veil. Many characters will have that much so the magic penetration on Sorc Boots will not be wasted.
