As for the software player, it uses about 21% of a Q9550 @ 4 GHz here, probably less on an i7 or modern Xeon for reference. Also wow does youtube ruin the quality with their internal encoding and downsampling, the version I encoded myself looks much better (link can be found [url=http://ompldr.org/vNzJ5NQ/test.avi]here[/url], if you want to compare) - but it doesn't compare to 4 GB large original.
