What about the passive? That didn't change at all.
To be honest though BotRK was overpowered for its active and became a liability rather than an asset. Riot doesn't want "One way to win" strategies, and BotRK was heading in that direction.

I would prefer passive to be nerfed i dont really care for item now and its alot weaker as early game item.
It depends. Now it's much worse on Tristana and Caitlyn ( people usually took BT anyway on Cait ) but it still remains the best choice for someone with short range like Vayne. Dunno if people will still take it on Varus, but I think it will still be a strong choice on him, though I don't play him so I don't know for sure.
ADC's aside, it's still strong on Jax, Irelia, WW, and any other bruiser who used to take it before. Though whether Jax and Irelia will now prefer Trinity Force before BotRK, I don't know.

the range nerf on the active was needed i think.. but i am a bit sad about the increased CD though...my ZED and Jax does not approve
i think the BOTRK into Trinity build on Jax will be the standard..

BOTRK was an item designed to help Peel, help sustain, and help chase. Nothings changed except that you can't use it outside of some ADC's range. Vayne could glue to you from OUTSIDE of her attack range with it.
The item was overpowered because it was an end all be all must have on a lot of champions.
Botrk let you chase people running, burst people, sustain though things you usually cant, do self peel, and so on. it basically was to much in one item to have at a high range and low cooldown.

That's the only problem with most everything Riot fixes about items and champions. They find multiple problems and instead of finding a healthy median, the nerf all plausible aspects. That's what they did with
Hextech Gunblade a long time ago. Two made
Akali unstoppable so they made it unique AND nerfed damage on it.
They nerfed range AND CD on BOTRK. Fine by me. :P
