atmoggs GP over rated regardless :P
It's not necessary, just one option.
Critplank is just as viable, only forgotten.

Imo not really, GP's Q alone isn't a good enough reason to build him squishy. His autoattacks are melee and you'll get killed if you try to go full squishyplank.
I like going for Trinity Force if I'm ahead and/or don't feel like I really need to be tanky, though.

I've played GP for eternities. You can build him with whatever Damage to Tanky ratio you want/need.

Yee but I think if you try building say, IE + PD Gangplank without getting any health or resistances at all you're generally going to get destroyed by a competent enemy team. Might well work if you're way ahead or they somehow don't focus you, but otherwise I don't think so.
Positioning is important on any squishy~

Positioning is a lot easier when your attacks have 550-650 range than it is when your attacks have 125 range.
Critplank is just as(if not more) viable as atmogs GP. U just need 1-2 items totally scaling through defence.
Ty MM and Blood for the sigs :3 | Rammus is comming back - heard it here first!

It's stronger WAYYYY earlier too. That's the strength of it really.
Atmogg's GP is better deep end game.

If you want my outlook on the subject, check my runepages.
You can see the enemy team has both a Warwick and a Gangplank, but you can't see which has smite. Who's solo top? And in the case that it's WW, what are the chances of him following my Q spamminig playstyle? ;)
Just u wait. One day I'll be 10k Elo and you'll all be watching my streams as I play an invincible WW. >:)
Also, critplank 4 life. Way better than tankplank. Killing tanks in 2 auto attacks ftw!

If you had gone an AD champion, I would have rushed Wriggles and Ninja Tabi and probably a Chain Vest too. In fact I would have preferred that since Wriggles gives me even more sustain.
Generally I would build a Giant's Belt on Gangplank and go Atma's into Warmogs. But I knew that was a very bad idea since Warwick's Q is % health based. I also don't usually build a Wit's End on lane Udyr, at least not that early.
