If it is less effective AND unfun in comparison, I would downvote it.
You have to be able to appeal to at least one of the two factors for PvP games.
Fun, or Effectiveness.
(Though, when it's purely fun, it still must be able to function in game, even if slightly inferior to the fun+effective guides)
