Yeah. I main Morde on Normal queue sometimes... 3% is too little, and 5% is too much (decays too fast), I thought they would change it to 4%....

I just went up with a Mordekaiser as well. He could free-farm the entire lane, leave, go do their entire jungle, and come back with full HP to kill the next creep-wave. It was ridiculous, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't even deal any damage to him.
I did manage to kill him once, but I had to neglect my farm quite significantly in order to do so (I wanted to shut him down since it was more important).
He ended up completely carrying the game, running into our team and killing us while we did our best to take down the squishy nukers standing behind him. Often times we would kill 4 of their team only to get aced by a triple-kill Mordekaiser, alone. He ended up doing more damage than the two follow-ups combined, on both teams.
It was simply ridiculous. And this because of a 2% change? All he did was farm a ridiculous amount and rush Warmog's (and yes, we had Bloodrazor, Nasus and Renekton on our team). With the fast shield decay, one can effectively shut down his farm. Without it, it's literally impossible.

I just faced a Morde last night with Shen and dominated my lane.
Really what you need to do is even if you don't hurt him with your attacks, lower his shield so he has to continually spam his abilities so he slowly drains himself down. Then start trying to go for his HP on your attacks.

He had 3.5k HP by mid-game, I don't think his own abilities hurt him that much. Also, I was playing Veigar on a solo lane - so I couldn't waste mana/cooldowns just to harass him - I needed every single last hit on Q, and my auto-attacks don't have a range long enough to touch him without him being able to touch me much harder.
I can fight against a Morde even before the first patch with ease on Tristana since I outrange him *and* I can continuously lower his shield with my DoT, but on other characters I can't even imagine how I'd perform.
To make matters worse, our two randoms (Nasus and Renekton) weren't actually doing anything other than running into the enemies without even waiting for our carries to catch up then complaining to us about not focusing twitch (I stunned + one-shotted him in every teamfight, but then he started learning to wait for my Event Horizon to drop *before* de-stealthing. Our tank of course helped matters significantly by *not* buying an Oracle, and dying even faster than me), and we had a Caitlyn on our team so it was pretty much an instant loss.
I'm still dismayed about how easily Mordekaiser dominated the solo lane though, that I lost the game in question was of no surprise to anyone.
I did try to harass him a lot early-game and it worked decently (I got first blood on him, after all) - but once he completed his Warmog's Armor he simply pranced around doing whatever he wanted with his 1.4k extra HP. What I did was waiting as long as possible until the next minion wave is *just* about to reach him, then hitting him once with an auto-attack + Q, the auto-attack should hopefully drain about 60% of the shield he has remaining, and the Q should slightly overflow into his health bar. I did get him down to about half HP constantly, but even at half HP it was not possible to for me to kill him even with my ultimate + ignite - he simply survived through everything and forced me to recall with ~50 HP left myself. With the faster shield decay, I could use my conventional

I'm being serious here. The reason why they nerfed his shield is FOR this reason. Remember I'm a Morde main and I understood why it was nerfed which is why I don't understand why they brought it back.
Also... really? a Warmogs? that Morde has some learning to do...

Welp, I guess Riot noticed that there were almost no one playing Morde after the nerf, and I'm sure some LoL Forum QQ across the board must've hit a nerve.
