When we want to play ranked, it normally takes a long time - I assume this means that there aren't many ranked 5s out there playing when we're playing. So when we are finally matched, we're put against high elo teams - like I said, the teams we played were not just Diamond players, but with team stats like 15 won games out of 17. So when we won those 2 games, we shot up, I imagine.
I also think it has something to do with the fact that my team is so lowly rated (unranked, Silver 3, Gold V). When I played with a bunch of high golds and got placed after 5 games and 5 wins, we only placed in Silver 3.
Edit: Also, that team was established late 2013 and we've always been in the Bronze league. Could that have played a part?
