You know, I was hating ranked 5s coz every game we were placed against Diamond teams, as in, everyone on the opposing team was Diamond or high plat. In fact, one of the games we played, the enemy team was 15 wins, 2 loses, and here we were, 1 win, 2 loses.
Anyway, after another defeat against D1 Zed, D5 Thresh/Maokai and Plat Lucian/J4, we got this screen.
Wtf rito. wtf.

Yeah, IIRC riot is pretty unforgiving in ranked 5's placements like that. You just got to make the best of a bad situation ;D

Ranked 5's matchmaking has nothing to do with Solo queue rating, which is really silly. Our team's plat III and the individual rating of most people we play against is Diamond III or higher. Starting teams with relatively low-rated individuals is really tough because you generally end up getting shrek'd in terms of individual skill. Not to discourage you, or talk down on anyone, but that's just a heads-up. Definitely don't quit playing though; ranked 5's has a lot to teach anyone as a League player.
Also, I have no ****ing clue how you guys hit Gold I with 2/3, like, that makes no sense. Then again, only five placement matches is weird anyways.

Went the same (2-3) in placements with a ranked team at one one point quite a while ago, only we were being matched with high gold players and it stuck us in Bronze 1. We were all high silver players at the time, so the major result was the team just got deleted because none of us wanted to keep playing on it.
