Putting the AD carry mid against an AP carry is a bad idea. AP carries tend to stomp on AD carries in the early and mid game; i.e. the laning phase. An AD who gets stomped on in lane isn't likely to be effective late game, when you need them to do Tons of DamageTM.
Moving the AP carry away from dragon will hurt your team's dragon control, allowing your enemies to get dragon more often.
Bruiser bottom lanes are possible, but not against every carry. Caitlyn, for instance, would not have much trouble against many bruisers, due to her range.

Unless the AD mid is a heavy poke champion, then they actually win the lane hard assuming they land it. But CC mids like Annie/Ori or longer range APs like Gragas/Lux can counter them. It's all about who has the better indirect trades for an AP vs AD mid.
I wouldnt dare. Some AD can do decently at top though, depending who they are facing. I would only try such strategy when I know who's top. Corki, Vayne and Kennen can make a decent AD carry top, leaving some options for a bruiser kill lane in bot.
That's all I've ever been succesful with when I ventured outside of the meta...

Sorry, I forgot to say that both teams use the same tactic
ok, added the new idea: new vs new and new vs old

In Utopia, I guess it could happen, and I would actually want to see it. But as your opponent, I would most definately send a mage mid against your ADC, with very few exceptions (ex: Cait vs Morg, which is absolutely hilarious)
Then again, I would enjoy it if we encountered this kind of strategy, but most compositions would most likely be countered by the current meta. And dont take me wrong, I'm not one of the guys who complains against imaginations, I enthusiastically ran Cait when I realised I was with support Skarner this week. And Skarner's ult on top of Cait's powerful early game was pure gravy. Unfortunately, good will isnt the only thing that matters when it comes to meta..

I'd say keep ap mid, get bruiser bot and some adc top. Vayne, Corki, Ez, Tristana, Kennen and Graves. They will work well top due to good mobility and in some cases disengages.

I was doing a test today, finished it and since I had to wait almost an hour to be able to go home, I started thinking about the current League of Legends.
*Important part*
Some things may be wrong since that's the way I see the game and champions, but I'll try to explain everything.
First case: both teams are using this tactic
Second case: against the current meta
Bottom lane: We find the AD carry and Support there. That's the lane I hate most. You have a bit of champion killing there, but the most common situation is a support warding the bushes and dragon and the AD last hitting those minions.
My idea: The support can stay there, I like it. And instead of the AD carry, we'll have the solo top. "Why the solo top?" you ask. Because I generally see them last hitting/farming and harassing the enemy. So with the support either healing or tanking and the solo top harassing and last hitting, we'd have a more aggressive lane.
Middle lane: Here's the AP carry. Well, it's a nice lane, the bros last hit and try to kill each other.
My idea: The AP carry can stay here. It would be a disadvantage to pick an AD carry to fight the AP one early game (and maybe mid and late game as well).
Top lane: You have the solo top here and the jungler helping to kill or make the enemy retreat.
My idea: So the AD carry will stay here. They can keep farming and get more aggressive with the help of a jungler. Also, they can fight the solo top pick from the old meta because of range advantage and mobility.
Can that thing work? Yes and no. I really can't see that happening on a low skilled match. I think that this kind of game would need a better map control them what we have now, and the team that wins most lane would win much easier than now as well.
But well, I need opinions. What you guys think of that? Do you agree or not and why?
