You should see HSGG's recent games with Galio in scrims and such. It's horrifying. :P

He's a great solo top with sustain and he does more damage than most other solo tops if he lands a clutch ult.

He's also good at duo bot. Bulwark makes it impossible for you to harass his lanemate and it actually heals him in the process. Speed buff for his lanemate, and his Q can be used to poke or setup creep kills for his lanemate. Galio+Tristana is particularly effective - once Q reaches lvl 3 or so, caster creeps will die with 1 shot from Tristana, which sets off a chain reaction netting her most of the creeps in the wave.

Leona belongs in tier 4 for solo queue, because she's trash unless you can be completely reliant on your team to maximize your passive. She'd probably be low tier 2 in a full-team queue list.

Galio's decent everywhere. His natural damage from defense counters the AP mid pretty bad.... Except Mogana... <_<
Sig courtesy of GrandmasterD. Go get your own sig from them. :D

Urs, keep in mind, laning phase is a big thing, and as Duff mentioned, her high survivability while still being able to do what supports do (CC, absorb damage, zone, let ally free farm) makes her pretty goot...she's basically on Taric's level support-wise, whom I think is one of the best supports for his sustain and natural tankyness and nice stun, while still doing what a support does.

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!

Leona can't zone for ****. She has nothing to threaten with. Her stun is melee range, Zenith Blade is easy to dodge, and Eclipse doesn't do squat for damage.

Seriously. Leona is tier 4 material for solo queue, probably deep tier 2 or even tier 3 for multi-queue. People are vastly overrating her effectiveness. If she's almost as good as Taric, why in the **** would you take her instead of Taric? ****, Taric does more damage than she does and can heal his lanemate.

Not in terms of CS, and he can't do much to deny the enemy mid CS, either. In a straight CS fight versus other common mid solos, Galio loses. He can do it, but he's not great at it. He's best at either solo top or duo bot, depending on who the enemy solo top is. He's really good duo bot with Tristana.

Yeahh I kinda agree.

The only thing Leona really brings to the table is stutter stuns which make it really difficult for channeling champs (Nunu karth kat malz etc) to do anything

Leona has a great moveset for her role on a team. The ult is a gamechanger. the only problem is it is hard as hell to hit.

You need a team keenly aware of how her passive works too x_x

If you want to play Leona you could also just play Amumu instead. He has more dmg and better utility.

They're similar in a linear thought process, and very different in practical application.

Amumu is a jungler and Leona is realistically a good duo laner as well, so you have the choice to take one in comps where you can't fit the other.
