Do you Like the new champion, Kalista?
Tbh, I hate supporting her if I'm not premade and speaking with the one playing her. I don't like how you just get thrown out of the combat with no warning when she ults. It should have a short channel timer or something so you can actually prepare for it because you simply have no saying at all if you want to get ultied or not which kinda sucks sometimes.
An option to accept or decline it or just simply a short timer on it before it triggers because I don't like the transition at all right now.
Would be interesting to use the "imprinting" on the jungler and see how it works.

I absolutely love Kalista. She's the reason why I've become so involved on Mobafire now. Because of her I'm making my first guide with her. It's a work in progress but I'm definitely getting somewhere. I never thought of using Runaan's Hurricane and I think it'd be a great item to play around with now that I think of how usefull it could be with hitting multiple champions with Rend. ^^ For those of you that would like to check out my guide you'll notice that I took a different approach with her. I'll be adding situational and defensive items over time but right now I'm just updating it as I go and as I learn more with her. I see a lot of potential with this girl. She's in my top 3 for favorite champions along with Maokai and Varus.
Just played a game with a
Kalista and I was her
Nami support, and the two of us played against another
Kalista and a Thresh. While I wasn't the one actually playing Kalista, I can pitch in my two cents as both her soul-bound and her opponent.
Passive,
Martial Poise: Makes her super mobile. My Kalista had no problem getting in and out of trades, but unfortunately the same can be said for the enemy as well. Plus the fact that it had no cooldown made it ridiculously hard to land bubbles. The enemy was able to poke us quite easily under tower because Kalista can just keep dodging tower aggro with her jump. It gave her insane chase and kiting potential, so even with the slow on my E (although it was only rank 1), I couldn't catch up to her.
Q,
Pierce: It's easily blocked by minions, and there's a small wind up time that makes it relatively easy to dodge. However when it is landed, it hurts quite a bit, especially if it procs the support's bonus damage. It felt a lot like a Nidalee spear in that respect. One thing that my Kalista and I discovered was that if the enemy was standing behind a minion, I could autoattack the enemy, she would pierce the minion (which has previous stacks of Rend on it), pass the stacks onto the enemy, and then E for massive amounts of damage. It takes a lot of synchronization though, so I think it'll definitely be more feasible if the Kalista is with a duo support.
W,
Sentinel: The active is actually pretty weak, imo. The vision range is quite small and it travels pretty slowly. Yes, it does help if you don't have any wards and you need a scouting tool, but I don't think it should be relied on as a source of vision. It only has two health bars and it was really easy to sneak up behind it to kill it. The passive was great for laning though! Combined with a ranged poke support (
Lulu,
Nami,
Karma, etc) I can see tons of damage coming, especially since it deals a percentage of maximum health. Also, it makes last-hitting under tower really easy, because getting the minion kill as the support with the bonus damage gave the gold to the ADC.
E,
Rend: The slow wasn't all that noticeable, especially in the early ranks. I feel like it's far better as an execute and to leave all the slowing/CCing to the support. Also, the fact its cooldown is refreshed on kill makes it a really valuable tool in 2v2 situations.
R,
Fate's Call: A very abrupt ultimate. Whenever my Kalista called me, there would be half a second in which I would panic and be like "what the heck is happening" before it registered in my mind what to do. Also, I feel like the synergy between ranged supports and the bonus damage one W is canceled out by most ranged supports not being as beneficial as a melee, tanky support with the throw and knock-up. As Nami, it was actually really scary being thrown forward like that because I was so squishy, and it messed up my positioning quite a bit for
Tidal Wave. Like Slappiz said, a half a second warning would be really helpful.
Lol, this turned out longer than I thought it would. I'm actually really interested in seeing how Kalista fits in with the meta, cause her kit is quite different from most ADCs. I don't think her kit is "broken", per say, but it definitely can be annoying at times. Still, that being said, she isn't terribly hard to deal with either. Anyone with a gap closer can pop her because she's so squishy, and she doesn't seem to scale very well into late game in comparison to champions like
Jinx or
Tristana.

Made this sig myself :)

I think the possible synergy between her and Thresh is out of this world. Kalista can easily capitalize on Thresh's hook with her spear, the lantern needs no explanation, and Flay increases Thresh's attack damage. Combine it with sentinel's passive, and you have one hell of a poke from just a single auto attack. Throw in a Rend, and it hurts even more so.
Plus, Thresh has been the only champ in the game that can pull an ally towards him, meaning there was no one else that could pull him, until now. Kalista's ult is the only ADC ability in the game that can deliberately save the support. Just this alone makes the synergy between the two insane.

Another sig I have to thank Emikadon for. :)
I've found it hard to react to her ultimate. When my screen goes green and the audio cue makes me panic, it only worsens the fact that it halves my FPS. It needs a better "consent" system, because when trying peel and kite with say,
Leona or
Alistar, right click is already being used and even if they wanted you to fall back with them, you can very easily just end up barreling into the enemy because you were still trying to do your original job of peeling. Maybe just giving a wind up time with a refund system (think channeled "prep" spells like
Vi's) would help out giving you a chance to react.

If you want to help me, teach me.
To be honest I don't think you use her ult in a fight like that.
You either ult to save your support, eg after a tower dive if they took too much damage or if the peeled for you and you got to safety but they get focused down. In these cases the supports were happy they got saved. I don't think they felt interrupted but I was Kalista in these situations so I can't be sure.
The other thing that worked quite well ( I only messed up once because I wanted my Leona to get the ability to charge in just when her E got off CD, so it is easier with a duo botlane) is to ult in order for your support to engage when they dont quite have the range or dont know if you as the adc will follow up. Especially on alistar, braum or Leona this is great. Because it is your only CC - the knockup. alistar can then stun them and knock them back for example.
Ulting in a teamfight does not work out in my opinion. In the End or in the Beginning sure, but not in the middle. You will only disrupt your support and probably die if you wanted them to help you because they wont be able to react in time.
So yeah, I don't think her ult is that disrupting if you use it properly. Then again a lot of supports dont know how to play with her yet.

Has anyone tried her as a Jungler? I'm tempted to try it out but I'd like to hear of any experience you guys may have had
I tried. She is imo too weak for the jungle and her clear is horrible (too long CDs and too low damage to compensate for it in the early jungle). Doesn't work very well.

Well I guess yeah.
