PBE is for testing, that doesn't mean you can't have fun with it though...
Nyandalee and Duckcurry regularly play with some of the regular PBE testers, and we have tons of fun.
And it doesn't make much sense for people to test something they get no reward for if they can't have fun at least :P

Seems a bit silly that the 1000rp was given out arbitrarily.
Sure you lost your runes/champs temporarily, but still, even if you had them, you couldnt have logged in to play anyways, and if you could you got a 3 hour queue of death and dissconnects durring your game.
