I honestly don't see the need. You just have to go to the respective forum and look at the topic's icon to know if anything new has been posted or to your account page to see if the comment number in your guide increased.
You can't really make your suggestion functional. For that you would need a system like youtube's, but then if someone doesn't click on the reply button and just writes a normal comment instead you will never get a message. And if someone wanted to reply to several people in the same post it would become really confusing and pretty much impossible to implement.
If you want something functional then it has to be subscribing to topics, with a section in your profile to show subscribed topics. To know if there has been a reply or not you just have to look at the icon and see if it's gray or orange.

I wholeheartedly agree. I hope this gets implemented in the future.
Also having an indicator like the flame icon in the forums for guide comments and blog comments would be great. I'd much rather just glance to see if I have any new comments on my guides instead of having to check all the time. Having a link to the last comment on one of my guides would also save me a lot of load time.

I want comments quoting one of my comments or comments on my guide in my inbox(messages). Its really annoying having to check every guide/forum topic to see if you have gotten any response to your stuff. In other words, i want it to be like Reddit's message system is.
Let me know if this is already suggested or whatever, and i will delete this post. And i hope i can help the site with this Idea, cause it would definetaly help me when commenting etc.
