I have also seen that I click the upvote button, and the screen goes a bit darker. Normally the C2V screen should pop up, but sometimes it doesn't.

Actually, it should work right away. More likely it's that when you vote, the server is doing some calculations on data that it hasn't loaded for a while. Try clicking once and then just waiting a while and see if you get the response.
If not then it could be that the script just takes a bit to initialize but... It shouldn't. Let me know if clicking and waiting helps or not.

Someone who voted up my guide said his screen directly jumpd to the item section but no vote was given. I don't know if this is related to this issue.

Yeah Matt if you click enough times it fixes itself, but this has happened to both me and my brother from different comps in different states.
It could very well be that the pages are still loading and thusly the upvote bar gets stuck in the flow of information somewhere and you have to try again when things are done. I don't know much about software, webpages, or information traffic >:P

Yeah, I'm talking about nested spoiler tags.
Stuff inside there loads with the web page, and I've said that before when they were brought up the first time.
I guess I'm just mad about the misconception.

You need to log in before commenting.
You can simply click a few times and eventually it allows you to vote, but this issue is confirmed by a few others I know that occasionally it will not allow you to vote.
Many people think it's lag or broken altogether.
