okay i will give you a short , khaz V irelia. note that i don't own any of them even though i main top.
Khaz
-he can easily dominate solo top in most line up due to his isolation mechanics which mostly on top is a 1v1 skirmishes.
-he is not really a top lane bruiser but a top lane ad caster assassin, very much like talon's role.
-he has a leap burst skill that can double as an escape mech and a stealth ulti which is used to charge his passive, escape or chase.
-other than his leap his only other way of escaping is through a slow which is his only CC.
-He is hard countered by tanky top and armor stacking due to the fact that he deals most of his damage as physical, except for his passive.
->why i didn't like him- i hated the fact that he can't go in the middle of the fight much like voli or trynd can do and if he does he will just die, most of the time.
Irelia
-she is a strong offtank. she can build durability without sacrificing damage.
-she deals all damage type, magic, physical and true. this would give her an advantage over most tanky top which would then need to distribute their resources to fight against all damage type.
-she has a pseudo-escape mechanism in the likes of how akali's shadow dance is used. plus this skill has no cd if it killed the target (yes even minions)so you technically have an infinite escape mech as long as there are enemy creeps.
-she has a CC that differs depending on your hp and an opponent. it would either be a stun or a slow. Win-Win.
-lastly she has a long range ult that can also heal her. so yeah once she hits lvl 6 she is mean in sustain and damage.
->why i didn't like her- i dunno maybe because there are just some better top for me ?

Elohell is like Irelia's stun: if your real level is equal or lower than the level you are in, you're STUNNED there forever. If your actual level is higher than the level you are in, you're just SLOWED in your way up.

I don't know, at first glance Irelia doesn't seem all that hard to use, but I don't know. I think I'll wait a week and see if I get lucky and one of them is put on rotation so I can try them before.

Thx, as I guessed Irelia is more similar to what I'm used to (tanky champions), but a bit more agressive and less tanky I guess? Because Shen doesn't exactly do a lot of damage hehe, though he takes it like a champ.

Well, I have seen Kha'zix doing well in top lane in a couple of feature games, plus he can go mid too, which is always a plus. Why do you consider him bad in top lane? I'm leaaning towards Irelia now, though, since she seems easier to transition too from what I'm accustomed to.
BTW if there are any other top laners you would recommend, please mention them.

^ if we're talking about top lane, he has a pretty high skill cap because his laning is rather weird. If you hit level 2 early, it is quite possible to pick up a kill if you jump on someone and hit them with the added damage on Q when someone's isolated, however if this doesn't happen / work he is very weak until 6, at which point he gets a huge power boost because he can upgrade W.
Definitely not an easy champ to get used to for top lane and honestly not all that good even if you do.
