armor yellows mr glyphs and movespeed quints are great on almost every role (especially on tanks and aps; some ads are really good with ms aswell)

Taking ArPen Marks/Quints is mostly pretty bad because you will get a Last Whisper.

AD and MPen Marks are good.

Armor Seals (gp5 on supports) and MR/lvl as well as AP/lvl Glyphs are great.

As for Quints I would recommend Health, gp5, AD or AP.

Movespeed quints are probably the best and universal quints around; tell your friend to shut it.

First of all it is gp10 not gp5. Second, gp10 seals are pretty bad and not universal at all.

The best two to start with are probably:

AD Carry/Top lane tanky DPS/Offtank (could also be used on a jungler):
9x Greater Mark of Attack Damage
9x Greater Seal of Armor
9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
3x Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage

AP Carry:
9x Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
9x Greater seal of vitality
9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power
3x Greater Quintessence of Ability Power

The most important rune to buy is Greater Seal of Armor because they work very well on almost any role and they allow you to jungle. I'm currently using them on five of my six runepages.

for aps I'd swap out the Greater Seal Of Vitality for the Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration; they are better on most mages.

EDIT: Greater Glyph of Magic Resist are usually better, even for top laners since you might face a magic damage dealer. Also they are great on most mages such as Ryze and Viktor.

it is gp5 because you get 5 gold (in 10 seconds). Anyways everyone understands what I mean :> I like my Seals, I get Armor Marks then.

It's gp10 since it stands for gold per 10 and if you mean 5 gold per 10 seconds with gp5 then it still wouldn't apply to the seals since they give 0.25 gold per 10 seconds each. And yeah, I'm not saying you shouldn't use them, but they are just not universal and they are pretty bad considering the ip you spend on them. Also, you can get so much other useful stuff in seals such as mp5, hp5 or hp(/lvl).

That is true, but it all depends on what you like to play. If TS plays support often they are worth the IP imo. But for any other role they are pretty bad, yeah.

Yeah I wouldn't really know since I don't play support at all. According to Searz and his guide on runes they are pretty **** :p
