well, if any of you want to add me to your circles.....
I use google plus primarily for hangouts instead of social media. The google's hangout feature is leagues above its competiton, like skype. If you haven't Looked into google hangouts beforee, i strongly sugggest you check it out ss its video chat brings a lot of things to the table that other video chatting applications simply don't have.
I agree with oxide in that google plus is a little bit ahead of its time. I'm sure that in like 2 years it'll blow up. Currently though people are comparing g+ to facebook, unfairly so. Just like how linkedin differs greatly from facebook and twitter, i believe that google plus will differ from facebook, in that it will be some sort of social media service that will kind of serve as a middle ground between the professional linkedin community, and the more casual facebook community.

Google+ will find it's feet in 3-5 years, most social networks have done the same.
Don't use it currently, planning on using it later.

It has actually already found its feet. Google+ is the second largest social media network right now. Only Facebook is bigger.
This was done in January of 2013:

Yeah, Hangouts is pretty amazing, meanwhile Skype has been in steady decline for years.

No, comparing G+ to Facebook is a fair comparison. They both occupy the same market, albeit G+ has a wider focus. A large difference is that one consistently aims to make life easier for the users while the other is remaining mostly the same.
G+ has a ton of functionality beyond that of Facebook.
I hardly have any friends on there, I use it mostly for following interesting people, because of how much better the experience is compared to Facebook. I just check Facebook a couple of times a month while I check G+ a couple of times a week.

Not using it, and haven't heard my friends say anything about it. They do however have an account just to access YouTube subscriptions, which is pretty much the only thing I'm using it for as well. Otherwise, it has no use for me.

I really like how Google+ works, I actually think it's better than Faceboook. However, until it becomes a bit more mainstream it's really hard to justify using it because my friends just don't.
