you should watch pokemon speedruns. It's like 10% skill (going through menus fast, proper movement, stuff like that), 10% remembering the route/remembering what moves to use and when to use them and 80% luck
Most games are influenced by chance. My arguement is that the combat isn't. I could give a **** less about anything that happens in the story. Not to mention everything in the game other than what wild pokemon you encounter are pretty much static and predictable. I don't believe any of the actual goals in the game (battling gym leaders and beating the elite four) are influenced by luck because it's all set in stone.
