For pre-workout,
1 hour before gym I usually go with 1 protein shake with 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil in it and 1 crisp bread with ecological peanut butter, and 10-15 min before workout I always drink 2 cups of coffee.
Test that next time (and maybe skip the coffee if you are going for a run). Always get me fueled up for a hard workout.

I thought protein shakes are mostly PWM, not pre-workout. I usually just lunch or eat dinner before going to gym, and after drink protein shake.
You still need proteins before your workout, after workout i drink a gainer/protein shake and about 1-1,5 hour later I eat some meat and veggies. It's important to fuel up your glycogen reserves after workout to prevent catabolism, therefore I drink gainer.

I dont take anything out side of ''normal'' food and I dont drink coffe either. I usually grabs whats ever at home, that isn't full of unnecessary things

Just make sure you get enough proteins each day and you should be fine, if you want to gain muscle mass, and be sure to refuel your glycogen after workout. You don't need shakes but they really makes it easier to get enough proteins each day.
If you want to get in shape you need to be serious of what you eat. No more hot dogs and mashed potatoes :P
Hehe well when I have to eat the thing that puts on the table, it sometime gets to be hot dogs and mashed potatoes. My mother loves it. Today its ham and cheese pie on the table. But I try to keep it well together, just found out that I love boiled chicken. Every second week I have to make my own food, then its usually not that bad. But still a hot dog sometime, when nothing else is in the fringed.

Haha, had the same problem when I was living at my moms house. You just can't get fit with all that delicious food they cook each day, It's impossible :P
Haha with my body type, maybe I can^^ Well when I was competing, I still ate some cookies and free restaurant food during the last week. Still weight in with 200 gram to go and no sauna this time. I weight 70 and was going to compete in 67. weight in 66.8.
My diet for today so far: porridge (no sugar or jam), tuna with egg and sallad, workout, banana before or after, ham cheese pie and then a apple before sleep

Urk eat a protein bar as a quick meal before running and just to try it, tasted like ****. Went out running a bit after that and felt like ****....burping made me feel even worse and had to go out in the middle of he forest to vomit up some. Turns out I felt way better then.
The moral of the story kids, stay away from protein bars!
LoL, my protein bars taste like the goddess.. And it's not a pre-workout snack.
