Is Sunfire Aegis really worth it? The passive is ok on Trundle, but there are better items that provide the same health and armour with better effects, like Randuin's Omen I don't think Sunfire Aegis is worth being a key item or staple in a Trundle build as it is overshadowed by more important items, but I guess a 5th or 6th buy would be alright.

Also, Iceborn Gauntlet isn't that good, their is wasted AP and and the mana is overkill, for the cost I don't think it's gold efficient on Trundle as much is wasted.

Just my thoughts.

your ult scales with AP so the AP in iceborn gauntlet isnt wasted at all, and you arnt buying it for the mana, youre buying it for the utility it gives with the AoE damage

Sunfire is worth it because as trundle youre going to be in melee range when youre attacking, you can get Randuin's if you need to use the slow (you have an AoE slow and the Q slow built in plus if you get BotRK you have a slow there too) or need the AS slow (you do have an AD sap and almost all supports have exhaust)

soooooooo sunfire and randuins are both good but the active in randuins isnt as amazing with trundle as the 40 damage per second with melee range, again youre always going to be in melee range with trundle and its 40 damage per second to everyone around you so 40x5 is 200 damage per second to the whole team in a teamfight and teamfights last a good 5-10 seconds maybe more so youll be dealing at least 1000 AoE damage to everyone around you just by doing nothing with a sunfire cape, for Randuins youre slowing people for 3-4ish seconds with an active and slowing the AS of the people that arnt going to be attacking the tanky trundle and focusing on the apc and adc

to me sunfire is worth it because of the AoE damage you deal with the people you stick onto and iceborn is amazing for utility and the extra damage you get from the passive

I guess Sunfire Cape is ok I guess, but the 40 damage from the passive is magic damage, not true damage, so you wont be dealing exactly 40 damage with the passive, but I see where you are coming form. Might build it 5th or 6th, but I think the extra armour and health, plus the slow from Randuin's Omen is good, and fits better with my build.

If you want Sunfire Aegis you should always build it early, since it falls off hard mid-late game damage-wise.

40 magic damage vs. 70 MR (just a random number): 23.53, before magic pen, but who builds magic pen on Trundle?

i never really liked sunfire cape. even though it costs less than randuin's, it has less utility, and only really shines to splitpush, imo. I consider getting it if in dire need of armor and hp, but can't affort +500gold difference.
indeed, lategame nothing beats a randuin's. also good to stick to those pesky adc's.

trundle shouldnt have a problem sticking to adcs with his pillar and botrk slow and iceborn(or in this guys build frozen mallet) and the slow from Q

yeah randuins is better late game but i prefer the sunfire passive
