I'm pretty sure it does deal damage if it gets cancelled.
It does if you cancel it yourself, but if stunned it fizzles and does nothing but a temp taunt and damage to yourself cause your getting attacked.

It deals damage, just not as much since you haven't been hit as much.
Also, when you use it 1v1 it usually can't be cancelled. When you get most of the team in the ult it's going to be pretty hard to interrupt unless you have certain champions that can interrupt it from outside its range (like Janna) or a champion that has an auto attack based interrupt (like Udyr).
I generally find it's pretty easy to get a good Galio ult off. The range is pretty large, and when Flash is up you can usually get pretty good positioning / a surprise ult.

Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!
It's not really a damaging ulti, more of a support ulti that sets things up for your teammates. Getting it on at the right time/positioning is the key to it, most Galio players tend to throw it in too early thinking it will blow the enemy team away. I usually wait until the fight is on and people forget I'm there and boom, there it goes. It usually gives your teammates a few seconds to get off cooldowns and deal the finishing blows.

Or Blitz.

Not true. If you cancel it early, it does full damage (the actual damage varies depending on how many times you were hit).

Please read it again, and you will se that I said if you cancel it early you still do damage, I'm saying if it gets cancel by a stun it does nothing. I explained that so many times I have used it, got stunned and the Ulti did nothing, and I was quickly killed because I was already hurt form using the ulti and now stunned.
It even says in the ability description that if you cancel it still does damage but that is not what I'm talking about..

My issue is if you are CC'd or whatever during this and the channel is canceled, you dont deal any damage with it at all, but you still take all the damage dealt to you. I find this quite annoying, cause I'll enter team fight, unleash ulti, other teammates jump in to deal some damage, then one guy CC's me and no damage, and im hurt from using it and go down fast.
SO my thought is, why dont it deal at least something, I mean if you think about it, where does all the gathered energy go anyway when you get CC'd if you can release it early yourself by activating ability again why can it not deal something for be activated.
May jst be barking up a tree, but I tend to not even use it, escept if can get them all in it, even then its not that amazing, or 1/2v1 to ensure death. Maybe im a bad Galio player I dont know, just my thoughts.
