Playing against a pretty bad team, he can be godlike and stomp them harder than other champs. Play against organized team, he can be pretty close to useless.

@PotatisFarfar:
How much does your Shaco friend counter-jungle when it's a 5v5 premade?
I've noticed, in the highest ELOs, people don't counter-jungle as much. They stick CLOSELY to their own jungle until midgame-ish. Which is weird, considering how ridiculous counter-jungling is.
And games usually pivots on how aggressive and successful the jungler is.

I love a good Shaco on my team from early-mid game, but once lategame teamfights start I would rather have anyone else. Shaco doesn't contribute much to teamfights unless you fight on his zone. Hard to predict unless you have massive ward coverage and the enemy team is very unorganized.
+Rep me if i'm useful!

Unless things have changed, Riot plans to remove oracles for Summoner's Rift when Stealth rework in put in place.
(And FYI: Current "stealth" abilities like

Supports will no longer be able to go on Sight Ward hunts anymore. Riot doesn't like that because it makes games super stagnant, constantly having to ward-hunt and re-ward areas.
So having lots of ward coverage will no longer be difficult.

If they change the box activation timing I MIGHT consider a serious Shaco teammate. If he could enter a fight and throw down AOE CC quickly I could see him being useful. I like that approach because it moves Shaco players towards a more offensive style of gameplay. <--- aka useful!

He drastically shifts gameplay. Especially now, people are just too scared to extend and give room, since his early and mid game ganks are just bat**** good. Its even better now since he can decieve, place a box in a possible escape route and still have the deceive damage applied to the target.
I personally think he's still strong in teafights since he can secure an area with boxes providing escape routes and "protected" areas... he can block off entrances so that if the enemy team storms in they will face the wrath of chain cc and a whole team ready to capitalize on that fear. the disadvantage to this is that you will have to plan and co-ordinate with ur team with the teamfight, and split pushing can counter all ur hard work to set up a secured area.
Shaco is definitely taking a step in the right direction!

If Shaco gets enough changes, and the way that he is played begins to shift, I will try him.
Until that happens, useless :3

He is fairly strong for solo stomping. But not really when it comes to 5v5 teamplay.
