You realize that giving him basically 5 passives means he's a very boring champion, and also very hard to balance. Lots of invisible power comes from passives. Look at Sona, Taric and TF's old passive.
Lots of power, very hard to notice.
Lots of power, very hard to notice.
But the 3. posted rework only has 2 passives while keeping his E as the same, give his passive a little lategame power and removed randomness and changed the ult a bit, so it no longer has the OP lifesteal steroid and instead of that rather a conditional weaker one.
Also, having flat health costs sucks. There's a reason why no one notices the health cost of
Tides of Blood, it's because at a certain point is hardly matters when ALL health based champions have innate sustain and usually BUILD sustain.
Change it to % health like Zac and trox.
There are enough examples of this type of costs here.

How often do you intend to pester ppl until you notice that even the old version of the champ has 3 times a better kit than your "rework"....
It's a damn shame already that Riot eliminates every champ that could be played in more than one way, don't make it even worse.
When Riot is going to release a new Sion Kit the major changes will be targeted at his passive, bubble and stun.
Passive because of it's randomness and the other two since they don't fit the AD playstyle at all.
Enrage will be barely touched and his Ulti nerfed not to make him become too powerful.
HOW they're going to do it, that we can't know and even if they come up with some idea, it doesn't mean it will be perfect or Sion will be playable.
Only thing that's for sure: He will be WAY less fun to play.

I also like Sion's kit, that is why I also released a rework based onto his current desing with only changed numbers (which are OP, of course). But the problem is, his whole kit in his current state is toxic. His Shield or Stun offer no counterplay and his ultimate is a total hit or miss. He needs consistancy and a balanced kit in every ability.
All 3 types of rework (1/2, total and only numbers) can be found here.

Ok. It's a matter of opinion but to me playing him on AP just for the fun of it: Totally worth it.
It's less that they rework those champs and more that they just completely eliminate one way to play them.
They're trying not to let him end up like that, but after the rework Sion WILL be a simple autohitter.
And playing risk-reward with him on AP is way more fun than that.
They could like, make a new champion with Sion Q & W, and they keep the old Sion with P & E & R and a new Q & W. Everybudy happy :D
