They don't stack. It was absurdly OP when it did, as you could potentially 1 shot anything that isn't Baron or a 300 Armor tank. That includes Dragon.

Then I read more.

Atmogs isn't that great anymore, tbh.

"deceive's damage bonus replaces the normal critical strike modifier, causing it to actually do less than a normal critical until the skill is at least at rank 4. It is affected by critical damage bonuses like Infinity Edge.

Deceive will apply bonus critical damage on top of its modifier. For instance, with Infinity Edge (+50%), Lethality (+10%), and Rank 5 Deceive, Shaco will deal bonus damage equal to 280% of his attack damage. This is before any other bonuses or mitigation are applied. Note that if Shaco were to attack the target from behind it would deal 20% additional damage on top of the critical strike itself."

Crit damage runes are utter garbage. They only come into effect late game. On an early/mid game champ, this is obviously a bad thing. It doesn't matter if you crit for 420% on that one attack if you don't kill anything come mid game because they bought a

*smidgen*of armor.

100 armor is easily obtainable by mid-late game with a guardian angel, armor seals and the support's Aegis as well as one's natural armor per level. That cuts your crit to 210% of your AD. Not lookin so hot now, is it?

if you look at shacos passiv Backstab, it adds 20% bonus damage when striking an enemy from behind, this means that you obviously should attack enemys from behind. But as most of us know, people don't tend to let an enemy champion stay and try to kill them from behind. This would mean that we would try to maximize the damage dealt in a short duration. A good way to do this would be by using Infinity Edge, which adds 50% crit damage and 25 crit chance, plus the malice runes, Mark of Critical Chance, Glyph of Critical Chance, Seal of Critical Chance and Quintessence of Critical Chance (which adds up to be 45 crit damage). If we then add the mastery called Lethality we get a nice 305% crit. That is already quite heavy damage.

But we aren't done yet, 305% crit damage is what every champ can do,so now we are gonna add the bonus from Backstab and the mastery Havoc . Because Backstab and Havoc affect damage output, they also affect crits, and since they are not critical strike damage, we can actually do the math:

(305 crit damage * 1.20 * 1.015= 371% crit damage, this is for sure quite high, but there are still 2 more factors to include.

The first is shaco's Q Deceive which makes you crit for the next attack (plus the blink ofc) also comes into play here, there is only 1 thing tho, the crit damage scales with rank, so it goes like this

140%/160%/180%/200%/220%. This means that before you rank it too lvl 4 you will deal less damage on your crits then you actually would deal from a normal crit. this ain't that big of a deal tho, 1st if we rank our Deceivesecond we should get it too lvl 5 at lvl 13, and before you get too lvl 13 you won't even have that much of crit chance. 2nd, this build is aiming for lategame since shaco is fairly strong early game.

so lets look at it, rank 5 Deceive crits for 220% crit damage (which is 20% above normal) that would mean or math should look like this now: 220 + 50 + 45 + 10 = 325 * 1.20 * 1.015 = wooping 395% crit damage (would be rounded up to 396% actually i think),

This means at rank 5 Deceive if you engage someone, your first attack would deal 396% attack damage for sure, and the next couples of attacks would have a chance to crit with 371% attack damage. This is quite neat.

But there are still things too add to this.

1st. since we go into the offensive mastery tree, it would be smart too take the final mastery Executioner too, 6% bonus damage to targets below 40% health, so that would mean at lvl 18

First crit (your Q) would deal 419% attack damage and the crits afterwards would deal 393% attack damage. So in team fights, you see that carry over there getting low, no problem shaco deceives crits and kills the enemy carry, not even to mention our ultimate Hallucinate which creates a clone that deals 75% your damamge (with crits too) and takes 50% more damage, i don't think you can say that deceiving in and taking out the enemy carry with 400% crits would be a waste of a champion slot. Of course, we gotta think about that if the carry turns around we get a loss of 20% bonus damage, but with a crit still above 320-330% were still dishing out "tons of damage".

2nd. we gotta look at a build for our fellow clown,

We got to have Infinity Edge, since the whole "build" revolves around crit damage,

i also think we safe can pick a Phantom Dancer for mobility, attack speed, and crit chance,

i would then Suggest to get a Warmog's Armor and Atma's Impaler. for boots we got to find out if we need the Mercury's Treads or the Berserker's Greaves. Both shoes adds up to our overall perfomance. If the enemy team got 4+ cc, i would go with the Mercury's Treads, this would be due to our assasin style of play, if we cannot crit the enemy AD carry down, we haven't fullfilled our role (could be ap carry too tho). As a last item i think i would suggest The Black Cleaver, we need the attack speed, and we need the attack damage.

this build would at lvl 18 with default stats round up too:

Health: 3223 ( with a full stacked Warmog's Armor.

attack damage: 298*

Attack speed: 2.15 attacks per second (with Mercury's Treads

Crit chance: 73% + sure crit first attack after Deceive

Movement speed: 400+ (too lazy to do the exact math and not that nec.)

armor: is around 120

magic resist: 77,5

tenacity: 35

you might want to trade out your warmog with a Frozen Mallet, if you need extra slow than your 30% slow from the passiv of your E Two-Shiv Poison, it gives a bit less health, a bit more damage and a

nice 40% slow on your basic attacks.

thank you for reading, would be nice if any of you could come with some input.

*114 (default ad) + 48 ( Atma's Impaler) + 80 ( Infinity Edge) + 55 ( The Black Cleaver)
