I've always been a fan of a tanky aura***** Taric. As others have said, having low AP doesn't matter as much as long as you're beefy enough to run in and bonk enemy champions. You heal for less, but you heal more often. It evens out at worst, and can result in MORE healing in good scenarios.

I'd definitely go for a Trinity Force. It's just so much utility. A little AP, a little AD, attack speed and crit to take advantage of your ult, and Phage adds a lot of utility since you WANT to be in there bonking people.

Grab Abyssal Scepter if you need MR, unless someone else is getting one. It adds another aura, gives you some AP, and helps your team more than you buying an FoN or BV will.

Thanks to Jsta for the sig image.

I don't really like going straight AP Taric because of the fact that it gets in the way of his ability to support early game. The build I like to do is..

Philosopher's Stone (Turn into Reverie Eventually)
Boots of Speed (Unless you started with them.)
Heart of Gold
Kage's Lucky Pick
Aegis of the Legion
Deathcap
Deathfire Grasp / Abyssal Scepter / Will of the ancients / Zhonya's Hourglass
Sell Heart of Gold so you can continue buying wards

That way you can still get AP without needing to farm so you can still support while filling the role of a semi-burster. AP Taric also increases your ability to support because of the increased potency of his heal and because you are decently tanky, you can smack some people around for the cooldown decrease.

Here's an in depth write up in case you're interested in learning more http://unorthodoxlol.blogspot.com/2011/09/eupilol9-different-way-of-approaching.html

I'm stuck at that point where all people want is a heal bot.

You forget that it's proc'd by spells too...

I never said Triforce was bad, in fact I think it is good. I just also see the merits of Lichbane on him too.

Listening to allies when you feel differently means you're not playing how you feel is best.
Be your way an idiot's way or a pro's way, you can only find out after you've tried.

Ignore what others say and just do well. They can't complain if you become the reason they win.
If they don't give up - Mute them.
If they're premades - Find better playmates.

That's my usual tactic.

lol

Though I am less inclined to mute people as I tend to miss mias that way.

When I mute people, I naturally become inclined to pay attention to the map myself.

And thus, the muted person's mia-calls become obsolete.

Gotta agree.

Plus I don't even hardly read mia's anymore :P No reason to rely on team mates.

So aura tank support Taric is most viable? What are your thoughts on CS? I find it hard to compete mid-late game without a little farm. Assists are great when small fights occur, but even with gold per 5s I find myself needing farm.

What do you think about focusing on Nashors for your main core along with frozen heart and boots? The CDR is nice and the AtS makes healing in combat rather easy. CDR on taric is pretty good, but I find myself only grabbing 2 items and focusing on survivability more often than not. <3 Aegis.
+Rep me if i'm useful!
