So when are the best times to use TF's ult now. Obviously it used to be for picking up kills and backdooring all over the map, but now those two things are at least more difficult.

ya pretty much that, the global ult nerf doesn't change its usage, just restricts when you can use it (i.e no more teleporting from base)

Backdooring and catching runners with Destiny is easy. Even now, those two uses are the easiest of any.


Those two aside. Knowing when to use Destiny for reveals, saving allies/towers, effective ganking.

All that takes experience. It's practically an art form to master when to use it correctly.
Each Destiny cast should give you an idea of how the enemy is moving during mid and late game. With each cast, you should have a better understand and slowly know when you need the reveal more urgently and when you can just use intuition.

If you don't, just cast it when you're within 5500 of your allies, and reveal for the sake of knowledge.

Yeah, I'm thinking it will be much more useful now for revealing enemies instead of the teleport. The teleport is what makes it worthy of being an ult, but the global clairvoyance is very powerful for team awareness.

I call BS on it still being "AS" useful for catching runners or backdooring. Can it be done? Yes, but if you just defended a turret push and got low, returned to the well and ultied you'd find your enemies chilling in mid where you can't reach them. If you want to go BD a turret or inhib you have to be in the vicinity to do it, but if you're with your team you're better off staying with them. Pre-Nerf Destiny I could use Teleport to meet up with a pushing wave of creeps, if my team got into a fight I could ulti in and even the odds, now I'd have to be in ~5500 units of my team, less than that if I want to ulti in with proper positioning to actually do something.

They've made it into a less useful spell....I've seen TFs since nerf just use the damn spell to get back into lane. It's not as good as it used to be, which adds some balance to the game, but if the nerf makes people not want to play TF doesn't that completely eliminate the intent with which Riot took to task this TF and Pantheon rebalance? At least Pantheon got some solid buffs, TF got piss all except an additonal reason NOT to play him and not to ban him in ranked games.

Riot's idea of balance at it's finest. Change core gameplay mechanic without compensation, succeed in reducing TFs ban rate at higher ELOs....Whilst reducing the number of reasons to play him.

I'm ranting...Back to OP:

Global CV, or to get to a nearby lane to prevent a push, reveal stealth champs like Vayne (when her ulti is rolling) to make her easier to kill. Escape ganks....Maybe catch someone alone....Maybe backdoor....But you treck half way across the map to use your ulti, might as well keep Treking and save the mana.
