But some members of the team might not be in range to make use of it. Also, supports will only get it after at least 2 gp10 items, which will delay it by a lot. Usually you'll finish it by the 25-30 min mark depending on your assists, which is a bit late imo.

@nomad
thanks = )
I also use it on amumu, but he can make full use of it. He's right in the middle of the battle so everyone participating is inside the aura's range. Also, he will take damage so every single point of HP, armor and MR aegis gives are useful to him.
You can't say the same thing about supports though..

CandyPanda's build and playstyle represents the EU meta game while Locodoco represents the US meta game. That's why. You can't expect for 2 different playstyles to be the same. What is bad to US is good to EU at times. What is good to US is bad to EU. That's how things work since there are 2 different servers with different playstyles. I like it imo.

Not really.. They're just 2 different people with different playstyles. I'm pretty sure it's unrelated to the meta, builds generally are.

It also doesn't matter if it's mid/lategame. Still worth it.

is it? 2k gold to give everyone in range 12 armor, 15 MR and 8AD. I'm not sure if I can agree.

EDIT: added the 8AD! Thanks lugignaf!!!!! = D

Don't forget the AD. People underestimate the 8 AD from aegis.

Thank you to jhoijhoi for the sig, and all the dividers in the guide.

It's the most cost effective durability item in the game AND it gives an aura. So yes.

Just because it's the most cost effective item it does not mean it's useful. Infinity edge is the best damage item, yet you don't see supports building it do you? A support might not need the survivability, just like he doesn't need the AD/crit chance.

The question is if aegis is good on a support, not if it's the best cost effective survivability item.

Ah, sorry.
Still, I don't think it's worth it due to the reasons I already mentioned. Aura range and defensive play-style.

I already said this but I'll repeat it.
Everyone used the same build with Sona and Janna. Whatever builds they used with tristana or if they differ in champs is completely unrelated to this topic. Every single pro used the same build in dreamhack.
You can argue all you want, it's proven, by experience, that those builds are better.
If you prove, mathematically, that fire is cold you will still be wrong because when I touch fire I'll get burned. The same way that even if you that the builds all the pros used are not optimal you will still be wrong because when used against other builds they were proven to be more effective.

Admittedly a lot of my rant was off-topic; however, my point wasn't to not do what the pros do, but to not accept their builds and guides blindly.

Also, your fire analogy makes no sense at all; math is in terms of absolutes and cold is a subjective term. I'm saying that if a pro says that fire is cold and you mathematically prove it's hot, it's hot.

In the same way: pros almost always have optimal builds because it's hard to be pro without it, but don't accept their builds with blind faith, and NEVER use an example of a pro as proof that something is certainly the best way to play it. This was kind of a rant that went way off topic, so I'll stop now.

And lastly: I think supports should carry the aegis. Supports can play one of two roles: 1. the champ who uses their spells from afar to help out and builds AP to do so (soraka), but ends up squishy, or 2. the champ who builds durable aura items and uses their spells up close on both enemy and ally and use their bodies to defend the carries (Janna, Sona). I think that supports should almost be the auxiliary tanks; when someone goes to target the carry, the support gets in their way to make it as difficult as possible. So, in effect, I think the support SHOULD be right in the middle of the battle, being durable and using their body to block the occasional ashe arrow that might hit the carry and using whatever CC they have to disrupt.
