League of Legends (LoL) Question: Is ranked play generally easier?

    Is ranked play generally easier?

The reason I'm asking is because I generally play normals only for a more casual experience. Yet, with the ranks resetting soon, I decided to make a big grind and see if I can break a new peak. Even though many of the games are tough, they give me the feel that they are generally easier than normal games. Normal games many times feel chaotic to the point where my input does little to decide the outcome, yet in my recent ranked history it suddenly seems easier to make a victory out of it.

I honestly only play ranked for that exact reason: normal games are just too ******ed at the moment. Where I used to play a "normal" I now just play "flex".

I often solo que in a bunch of competitive modes in several games (included LOL), and I do find ranked to be more organized that casual, pretty much because it's the same case as you described, but it's more flexible in solol que. I do often feel more tense in solo que because I feel like I'm the do or die player on my team (boom or bust). Otherwise I find it to be more easy than casual (IN TERMS of organization and team play)

PS. Are you playing with a squad of varying sizes, or are you just solo queing like me?

Normal games are an absolute mess I agree. Soft inters, AFK farmers, ragequitters, literal AFK's, you name it. It's not even people being bad, it's people with the mental of a kindergartner actually wanting to grief and lose.

But I disagree that you have no control. You can win these if you 1v9. It's actually a good challenge if you want to get better at the game.

The problem with SoloQ is that it tends to be more toxic than normal games since people are tense and easily frustrated. It's rare for someone to go afk in a normal or flat out int, since people don't tend to get as tilted. I think Flex Q is a nice compromise since people usually tend to try to win harder than in normals, but aren't as stressed out as they are during SoloQ.

Depends on your rank but, you can generally rely on your teammates more cos (most) ranked players are doing their best to win. If you are playing the game well, then yes it can be easier if your teammates are playing properly well too

Yeah well, as easier as it may seem, it doesn't seem to work out. I've been trying to make some last minute grinds to get to Gold and S1 has been hell. People make little mistakes, but they make too many, they're not even bad players. Someone may start with wrong runes, I tell them it's fine you can still dominate, then they proceed to fail and if I'm jungling potentially blame me too because I didn't set up camp in their lane, they don't care that a bad early game can easily translate to a strong late game and play on that angle. The games are easy to win, I don't understand why my teammates don't see that, they appear to try just to effort's sake, not because they see we can win. It's a team game, unfortunately and I've failed at it another year.

I understand where you're coming from having had to climb from silver as well. I spammed Evelynn from Silver 5 to Gold 2 since her carry potential is so abusable. Who have you been playing? You may need to pick more of a carry champ that can make the game a 5v4 or 5v3 to cover your team's mistakes
