Which is better: dodging a ranked game in champ select, or playing one with

This has happened to me twice so far:

I have to dodge 2 games almost one after the other because of trolls, people who didnt pay attention, or people who refuse to cooperate. Because of this, I'm essentially losing 13 LP every time I do so. But, I dont want to risk losing 40+ LP out of the two games. Yeah, you can say its an easy choice to make, but after awhile, you say to your self "Should I just go for it?". You obviously cant do it all the time, because the leave buster system will eventually lay the hammer down on you.

I usually just go for it unless it's someone who has no intention to play the game at all. Sometimes I may end up being salty about the game but hey, at least you get some experience out of it, if nothing else. One loss won't stop you from climbing if you're better than the elo you're at.

I played with a guy named "GeneralAwesome" in my promotions late at night with my friend. I was first against him and he just fed us alone to win the game. For the next 4 games, he was in my team and I lost 3 out of the games soloely because of him. We (me and my friend) didn't dodge even after meeting him for the 4th time, it was actually kinda hilarious and we laughed our ***es off. We ended up winning the 4th game.

Always better to lose 3 LP than 20 LP, imo. I don't really see a need to dodge as often as you seem to, though.

My advice? Take the "In all likely-hood already lost" game your in and play it, but do so with the intention of trying something new or crazy or something you need a **** TON of practice at. You'll still lose most likely but you'll get to try out bat **** idea's on live targets who actually give a a ****, which if your me means getting to try out fun mind game strats that I rarely get to use in ranked. Sometimes they work out great, I've been playing Skarner as main until 5.1 came out for that reason exactly. Find some silly builds that work because people think they are bad.

Ranked players at the lower ELO's are apparently the MOST susceptible to non-meta play due to being SO locked into routine.

If you truly think you can carry your team, then you can go on and not dodge in champion select. But if the game immediatly starts going downhill and its like 15-3 and your team is just raging all over the palace then I would suggest surrendering at 20 minutes to try and just do a different game. The time you spend wasted on every close game could be spent facestomping a different game.

ALWAYS DODGE if you arent comfortable in your current team. You know when you gain and lose LP its varying numbers? That reflects your ELO. If you have a lower elo than the division youre in, you gain little and lose a lot of LP. Your ELO goes up when you win, and down when you lose.

DODGING DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR ELO, ALTHOUGH LOSING DOES. Taking a few chances with people can absolutely murder your elo and make your next few wins +17 LP instead of the +25-+30 you would have gotten if you had just dodged instead.

I say dodge only when under threat of being trolled. If the composition isn't quite right, or someone chose a role that was already taken, then it's usually not too bad. You can always move people around since most champs can play in multiple roles. In the end it's all up to you and whether or not you think you're for sure going to lose, or just gonna have to try hard for a win.
