Can Kassadin Jungle work?

Im wondering if Kassadin Jungle can work in any way. I have tried it in several ways: with some attack speed and W max or full AP and max CDR. But neither does great. His early game is very weak and he lacks an AoE spell to clear fast. (His force pulse (E) isn't spammable because of the 6 charges required) From lvl 6 on his clear is ok with rift walk.
So im asking: does anyone know a specific build or rune setup that could make it work?

No mate, kass is not good in jungle at this moment .

But short answer is : not in this meta.

I'd recommend or instead if you want an AP assassin jungler with a similar playstyle.

I've seen a guide or two for Kassadin Jungle but I'm not sure if it is actually viable. I cannot immagine that he can sustain in the jungle, not to mention his early clears cannot be that fast.

Sustain and clear speed are not the problem. There are ways around that. The problem is that he loses every single 1v1 against the enemy jungler, in a meta that's all about forcing that to happen.

It is indeed true that he is too weak to duel. I have played it and they could just walk into my jungle and kill me before 6.
Maybe someday, when the meta changes, Kassadin Jungle will be viable. But until then I am playing AP Ekko jungle.

Well, if the invades are the problem, than there's an easy way around that.
Change up your jungle-route: ask for a very strong leash on your own blue buff and go straight for the enemy red buff.

Q: Why would this work?
A: You are jungle, nobody expects you to be strong early so they will 9/10 times invade your red buff.

Also: don't be a stranger to s. Every time you have room in your inventory, some spare gold, and you don't buy one you are hurting yourself and your team! ^^

I am not saying that is broken OP in the jungle, but if you play smart there shouldn't be any problem with it. ^^
