League of Legends (LoL) Question: Current bans?

    Current bans?

What are the current things to be banning? I hate doing the bans because I just wind up doing the popular bans I see but don't feel they necessarily need banning/picking. I suppose some consideration needs to be made for the level of play. Not many scary Elise's at my level (although I don't think she gets banned much anymore, anyway) and while I might feel that Malphite isn't scary, if my level can't deal with him (even if I think I can) perhaps I should just be banning him anyway. Which I usually do just because I can't think of anything worthwhile to ban :/

I dunno, maybe I shouldn't care too much. Leaving Shen open usually baits people who can't play him into picking him just because he's Shen.

Thresh if I can't get him, Vayne unless someone requests it, Twisted Fate, Zac, Shen, Elise and I think even Yi is a legitimate ban now especially in lower elo. Oh and of course whatever annoys you/ you have trouble dealing with/ counters your pick.

I've never seen a Nautilus ban but hardly anyone I have vs'ed owned him, when I played him on the free week I realized how good he actually is though so I'm not surprised if he is banned.

at low elo we still have the Amumu, Shen, Blitzcrank and Malphite instabans along with Master Yi now, which are the generally 'OP' champs that people just don't know how to counter, you never see TF banned and Zac is usually considered a weak pick for some reason.

In Silver is no longer shen instaban, people recognized trouble with timing on ultimate in Solo Que. Very often Bans are still Blitzcrank and Amumu also Thresh and Nunu.

I was baning Caitlyn before nerf of her passive. And sometimes TF. I can recommend to Ban Zac, Elise, Lee Sin

Just ban whoever annoys you, or whoever you consider strong. I tend to play AD Nidalee if I am going top, so I tend to ban Nasus, whose Wither cripples AD Nid's mobility and her damage output. Never ban a champion unless you personally consider them to be strong. If you can constantly wreck an Amumu with an aggressive, duel-oriented counterjungler such as Lee Sin or Kha'Zix, then why the hell should you ban Amumu just because "He's op"?

I do Hecarim Thresh/Blitz (The enemy team will likely ban one of those; so I usually do one) and then usually a selfish ban. (Ban Cait if I want to adc, since I hate her. Or ban someone to help my duo friend.) Shen is a good ban if you don't know your top, because Shen can get really stomped by some people; but if your top is trash or has a limited pool you could be screwed.

I normally like to ban Thresh, Jarvan IV, Shen, or Ryze.

Ryze is no longer ban efficient after his range nerf.

Thresh is a very common ban at the moment
