League of Legends (LoL) Question: Hextech GLP on TF

It's really hard to fit in Hextech GLP or the other Hextech item. They're both decent but there are just other items you want to have instead of the Hextech items. You just can't find space for them.

There are just better items, Rod of Ages for example. Some argue Hextech GLP should be taken if you're having a bad time in lane but that's when you just take Abyssal Mask.

Unfortunately it is not good on TF. In the current meta you need to scale up and make an impact fast. For this condition to be satisfied you need to rush a lot of CDR. The hextech item is great for damage however TF is not a dps midlaner but rather a utility as he roams and gets his team ahead.

The buildpath is not ideal towards the item and both hextech items lack in comparion to rushing a CDR item on TF especially since this patch gave CDR to Zhonyas,Abyssal etc..

It's hard to say, but it could be quite useful if you need to roam a lot and perhaps need to slow the target / proc a spellshield to get a kill (like ganking a Sivir), but honestly I can't see it doing much more, it could be used to kite some champions but considering mid is almost only ranged I can't see it don't all that much. Personally I'd stick with Rod of Ages most of the time as it is cheaper and offers more stats overall. I guess if think you could make more use of the slow & damage then lets say 100 hp & 20 ap for the 400g then go for it, no reason to not try it, after-all there are no useless items. Good luck!

In my opinion every Ap champ needs this item because it gives you a surprise moment and you can even bait flashes, and on TF its Godlike because this little boost is so important for your yellow card.

I would buy an Zhonya too so you can hextech (maybe also a flash) then yellowcard and zhonya.......boom the enemy fed is dead, only if your team follows
