On top of what you and VexRoth said, Maokai has lots of CC and good sustain. Miss Fortune AP can be disgusting with the slow from Make it Rain and loads of damage she can do. I like to play Garen, but he's actually quite terrible as a support :P

Other uncommon supports that had its spotlight in the meta are Volibear, Vel'Koz, Shen, Anivia and pretty much any bursty mage ( Brand, Annie, Lux).

Depends what you want to do and how much effort you're putting into supporting rather than going full damage with a sightstone.

    - Kill pressure alternative supports (these work due to great base damage, mostly): Jarvan IV (he creates by far one of the best level 2 kill pressures in lane, decent poke and ok steroids, ok-ish peel with E+Q or R into E+Q), Lee Sin (great mobility and all in potential, decent peel with R and E, great poke and a decent shield for trading), Rengar (amazing brush pressure, decent peel with E, decent self sustain with relic shield + Ferocity W), Poppy (decent poke with passive, great CC lock).

    - Tank role alternative supports (these are ok in lane but often fall really flat after lane phase): Malphite (ok poke, nice engage post-6, nice gank setup, horrible mana costs), Maokai (good cc, horrible mana costs), Sion (lane pressure, great engage), Yorick (good level 6 pressure, good poke, mana hungry, decent peel due to W slow), Amumu (grat 6 pressure, decent pre-6 pressure), Illaoi (great post-6 if she gets a good ult, decent poke, decent mana costs, E creates good opportunities in lane), Galio (decent lane poke although mana hungry, ok-ish shield, great post-6 engage).

    - Mage/burst alternative supports (they usually have decent CC that can still be effective post-lane. Their main downfall is that they're usually more efficient full ap and can't fill a tanky role/are really easy to take down. They also need levels to be 100% efficient): Lux (great poke, good CC, great with 45% CDR, mana can be an issue early), Brand (amazing poke, ok-ish mana costs, amazing AoE, great pick potential with Frost Queen's Claim + Rylai's), Fiddlesticks (good targetted CC, decent poke and pressure), Heimerdinger (great pressure, strong versus melee gankers as long as he can keep towers, strong post-6 peel/AoE, very zone-dependant), LeBlanc (great lane pressure, ok-ish peel) Orianna (good shield, decent peel/poke, good engage), Syndra (good poke, decent peel, great single-target damage), Ziggs (great lane pressure, annoying poke, ok-ish peel).

Of course, with enough imagination nearly any champion can basically lane alongside a marksman and do ok...ish.

As ADC I've had some success with Heimerdinger and Sion in the support role. Heimer is really good at preventing bush camping (I see you Leona) and turning around all-ins with his ultimate. Sion is a little like Malphite, just hit 6th level and time his ult with a jungle gank and you have free kills. He can also be a decent bodyguard in the case of all-ins. Though in either case, be prepared to lose some farm to both if they are being very active against the enemy laners.
