Views: 4033 Guide: Stop the recalls!

Yo fellows of Mobafire. It's been a while since last blog, because I've been thinking of something productive to write about. I have finally found the subject I want to talk about and open the world of. The idea I got from previous game. I'm talking about stopping enemy from recalling, why and when ?
So stopping the recall means you just stop enemy from going to base to replnenish health and mana or stopping them from buying items. I see no reason to give enemy a free recall to base when you can make them pay with death or minions. A basic example will help:
So in my previous game we(my bot lane) are forced to go back to buy
Vampiric Scepter. I use
The Culling to clear the wave and go back to buy now when I believe I will loose the least minions. When I come back from lane I have big item advantage over enemy
Jinx with only Dorans. I see
Jinx recalling with
Morgana. I ping my support
Zyra to stop the recall while I farm the ongoing wave under turret. However
Zyra did not stop the recall and they got free shopping trip when I was farming minions. It's not worth to chase to stop recall as ADC when you have huge minion wave. Normally I would have stopped it by myself but I had ~8 minions and
Zyra was doing nothing.
Because
Zyra did not stop the recall: They got free shopping trip without loosing ANY minions.
Jinx came back with B.F sword and has bigger item advantage. We can't win trades any more and
Zyra dies, because of the damage. I'm then denied TWO minion waves, because I can't trade with the
Jinx. ALL of this happend, because recall was not stopped.
IF the recall was stopped: I had life steal to sustain in lane, I had more damage and we would have dominated the lane due they had no way of replenishing their health or mana. The bot lane could have gone in whole opposite direction. This is way you ALWAYS stop the recall if it doesn't require loss of many minions or loss of much health. Even if a minion wave comes and you see enemy recalling to buy items, stop it so he looses more minions.
Generally you want to stop recall when;
* Enemy is low hp/mana
* Enemy will go buy big item
* Enemy will recall after pushing wave to not loose many minions
* You can dominate the lane if you stop the recall
* It doesn't cost you minions or loss of much hp
* Gives your jungler opportunity to gank your lane
Hopefully this helped someone.

Anyways, I always try to stop recalls when I see their whole team and we have someone backdooring. It's funny when they're too stupid to go hide somewhere to recall. Sadly, sometimes I have to suicide and some always do get through, but yeah.
Not to mention stopping someone's recall is ultra-satisfactory!
Situations do happen though and it's best not to generalize.
Already liked doing this so much. Thanks for the read though. Was nice :D
The only reason I don't prevent recalls is if I feel it could probably kill me.
