And dealing 10 damage is not as great an effect as healing for 20?

"Trinity Force works only on BASE attack damage (as it says in the tooltip).
In fact, the bonus damage from TF is applied after crit (so the extra ~=150 AD won't crit like the rest of your attack will).
It's pretty meh."
