The whole point of the ability is to get a massive burst of DPS just by building a bit of AD and having AD runes/masteries. It's really hard to trade with Fiora when she hits you like 5 times incredibly fast, then speeds away when she goes"

I don't think Lux is any more at a disadvantage late game as most mids (some exceptions of course, Veigar and Cass both have pretty spectacular late game damage). I think her damage curve is rather comparable"
