I gotta be honest, this leader thing sounds like a terrible idea.
What are we, high school students in a gym class?

It's a theoretically more fair way to distribute players on different teams. Just give it a try. If it sucks, let the host know afterwards and if it gets a generally bad reception we'll go back to the way it was done before.

Thanks to Jovy for the sig!
What PsiGuard said. But that's not all; It is also a great way for members who are more comfortable with speaking to each other or with playing together to be with each other. We wouldn't want a call with nobody speaking, it gets awkward.

I mean, whatever floats your boat though.
Sure this idea may either be right or wrong, but that's why we're TESTING it. You should have been discussing it with me and the other referees but you clearly don't take your title seriously as you have no discussions with us (including many other reasons).
MMM not necessarily. There are instances where it's not always best to pick the highest rated person available. Like, Moon + Taco are a really strong pair, and is probably stronger than picking me + another random person.
There are also combinations that don't work well together. Like, having me + pulse on a team is probably detrimental to the team's success, because I always go out of my way to troll poor old pulse <3 Another example is how I'm weaker on a team when I play against Goodplays, since he always finds a way to catch me while i'm trying to BM him.
While rank is a decent estimator of how teams should be balanced, there are other lurking factors that should be taken into account when gauging a team's strength. With this in mind, it'd probably be best if only regular inhouse people are the captains to start off - since they know everyone, and they'd have an idea of what combinations are strong.
If people start talking and having fun, then we're really hitting at the spirit of these inhouses.

It's only more fair if, and only if, the people who pick the teams actually pay attention to balancing. However, say we'd do this on EUW, and people like myself become a leader, then I'll probably just end up picking my entire ranked 5 team because
In other situations a lot of people will just pick people of high rating because they either want to win or they don't others to **** up the game before the laning phase ends, if you catch my drift.

I think people can do that, but honestly, on paper this doesn't even seem like a good plan at all. This really just feels like an easy out because balancing is such a pain in the behind.
