Look, if elo boosters exist, elo hell doesn't.
Just because you don't know how to snowball a lead by yourself to carry the weight of four other players on your team doesn't mean others can't. It just means you belong at your rank.

Your gold smurf being significantly higher than your main could also be your mindset and your brain.
I know a couple of people that have smurfs in Master, but their mains are struggling to get out of diamond 5.
You might be showing too much respect against opponents on your main because you are trying hard to win and you don't want to screw up. You may be playing more aggressive on your smurf resulting in higher amounts of kills and just overall presence against the enemy team.
I don't believe it matters which champion you pick, it's honestly just how you play that champion.
Overall, treat your main like a smurf and just yolo in every game you play. Play aggressive, show no respect to the enemy, but be smart and respectful towards your team. I believe you will be able to climb with this mindset in no time.

"Elo hell" is simply the highest rank that your current ability will carry you. Nothing more, nothing less.
As skill increases so does your next version of "elo hell". Personally I wouldn't call it elo hell; I'd call that your current elo or rank. This means the system is working as intended.
