Hey Liam:
Nice guide, you keep it short yet concise, and it's well explained. I just found problems with the items guide. You only explain a bunch of items, but you have a ton of situationals in your cheat sheet. Explaining your itemization further can be a good idea. Also, there is a Mercury's Treads in red colour, check the linking.
I've personally used Cho a couple of times in the jungle, and man, he's slow! So I take mob boots for the gank phase and then change them to mercs.
Last but not least, you list homeguard in your boots enchantment. It's not an enchantment anymore, so you should change that.
Good luck with the guide!

Hello i main Cho'Gath Usually playing top/mid but sometimes i go to jungle and i think Rylai Spectre
is a great item for him since his E is a spell and with every autotattack he slows his targaet. Also with this item u can save teammates in a fight slowing down enemis so they can't reach your carries.

Yes, cinderhulk is an incredibly strong item this patch, especially with tanky champions. It fits in perfectly with Cho'Gath's playstyle.

Shaco is one of those champions that if played well can really mess up your jungle. The best way to play against a shaco is to buy plenty of wards and ward your jungle at all entry points, this will stop him from surprising you with an invade. His 1v1 potential is incredible and if played right he can get an advantage that will put him ahead for the rest of the game. So basically - Get plenty of wards, avoid 1v1, if you see him invade call a teammate for help, and if you see him try to gank a lane - follow him because you have the ability to cc the heck out of champions in fights so a combined force with your allies in lane should be able to turn the tides of the gank.

Thanks for the feedback, i agree that Cho'Gath is indeed one of the better champions in this new patch for me personally. With the right champions cho can be caught out and killed early on in the game and that can hurt his mid-late game, and his early dueling potential isnt that great so many people that like to go for the burst heavy champions and probably a reason that he isnt picked alot in lower elo's.

A forum post and an ad. In the comment section of a guide. I can stand sigs with ads, but this? This is real advertising, in a competitor's guide. Ugh. This can go in a jungle forum or maybe q&a. Where it doesn't belong is here.

When riot released Enchantment: Cinderhulk I thought:
- Damn my Fiddlesticks will get hurt so bad with this changes.
- OMG what happens with Dr. Mundo, Volibear, Nautilus, and Sejuani? They're going to be HUGE.

But what I didn't think about, was Cho'Gath performance with this item. Can you explain to me why isn't Cho'Gath ultramegahypersuper GOD tier right now?. I mean his ganks are really good, you get to cc the enemy for a lot of time when you gank, preventing them to Flash away or using escape abilities. So yeah, you don't have as much damage as Lee Sin or Jarvan IV will make, but if the enemy's hp isn't much you'll secure the kill even better than they do.

- The ultimate "scales" with HP
- As a jungler the probability of dying are less than as a top/mid laner If you don't make silly mistakes, which will let you keep your stacks (more hp).
- Your core items give HP.
- Enchantment: Cinderhulk increases your HP by 25%!!!!! (TWENTY FIVE PERCENT) I MEAN ISN'T HE FKING HUGE ??????? WTF WHY ISNT HE?

Great guide my friend.

/Edit:

I just tested it on a normal game, and see this, I have 6.5k HP fullbuild level 16, I mean If I don't make a mega huge stupid mistake people just can't kill me, and I'm making 750 true damage, AOE CCing people for 4 seconds (FOUR) more or less, and making 400 with each ability but no magic pen. So....... 6.5k hp...

So can you explain me the "con's" of Cho'Gath on 5.5?, Or give me some advises, because I didn't use him for years and I don't think he's bad, I think of him as a MASTER of SoloQ games like freelo ftw champion :P:P:P

/2nd and last edit:

Your guide is awesome. You're awesome. Cho'Gath is awesome. Fiddlesticks is also awesome, you have my positive vote.

You can check my fiddlestick's guide if you want, I think they have a similar playstyle (1 damage tool, 2 cc tools, 1 "weird" ultimate, sustain, rare picks, underrated picks, etcetcetc).

Uhm I don't know if I can link my guide in here, so if you want it I can PM it to you or I think you can look for it on my profile, I promise you'll find it worth it :P

Cya.

Hi there, In my honest opinion no, maxing Vorpal Spikes isnt better than maxing Feral Scream, my main reason for this is that i dont feel that when i play Cho'Gath im using my basic attacks as much, and considering this guide is focus more on a tank build the basic attack damage isnt on par with the amount of damage ouput given by Feral Scream, and the duration of the silence is much more useful to me for teamfighting and ganking than my jungle clears. On a side note i dont find Cho'Gath's jungle clears to be slow or damaging to him at all, so i dont feel that maxing E first will help much in the long run.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity shouldnt really affect Cho'Gath's ganks much at all, considering the cooldown of it will still be quite long in the early game anyway (7 seconds cd for a rupture), i feel that with Mobility Boots you have a much easier gank as you can get into the lane you are ganking a lot quicker and also when moving in between camps. cd boots are probably a better option for the late game but i still dont feel that they are worth changing out mobility boots for as Cho'Gath has a high base movement speed and i like to capitalise on his strong points.

Cho'Gath has a relatively high base armor rating and when jungling his passive really kicks in to help him with his sustain, thus jungle camps dont really have a major affect of Cho'Gath and he can easily outsustain the damage, the items i have selected as his core really help him out with his sustain also, as explained in the items portion of the guide. The scaling armor runes will scale way past level 6 so his armor is perfectly fine so you can build some mr items (assuming they have ap champs), once your core items have been built you should start building armor as that is when it will begin to count.

Hope this has answered your questions.
