Sorry for the long absence. I am doing my PhD now and have even less time to come over and check it out here. But feel free to leave comments, I will reply you as soon as I can.
Meanwhile, I updated the build a little bit so that it can be usable :)
I was curious why you take
Sincerely, Lasoor
The main reason I choose DD over Bloodthirster is that I focus on team fights rather than 1v1. In a team fight, you need to use your alpha strike as your main source of damage rather than your basic attack. This is mainly because you are too squishy with this build and don't wanna get caught out there. But what is that to do with DD and Bloodthirster?!
1. When you wanna use more alpha strikes, you need more CDR and DD gives 10% more which is 1.4 second difference in its absence (9.8s vs 8.4s). It may be very minor buff but in reality you would crave for that 1.4 second :D
2. Bloodthirster is useless during alpha strike while DD can provide a decent amount of healing (185 heal, see 2 comments below) which is respectful compare to 2100 health bar of Yi. Not to mention that if you get a kill you can land another one quickly and benefit from healing.
3. Last but not least, I don't see Bloodthirster shield effective at all, especially when it comes to comparison with DD's passive. DD's passive allows you not to die instantly from mages’ damage and make up the bleeding by some auto attack or alpha strike. And this can happen any time unlike the shield of Bloodthirster which only works when you are at full health.
Btw, nice build man, very comprehensive top build.
Also i believe DD ability heal is only 33% of the 15% heal since im pretty sure alpha strike counts as multi target ability. If im right that makes DD ability heal basically nonexistent and its auto attack healing is less than BT. Yi does about the damage of alpha strike per auto attack and can auto attack many times in between alphas. Putting your healing in Alpha Strike could be more harm than good. Only plus side I see to DD over BT is the CDR but you'd be better off buying an early Spirit Visage.
Very detailed guide. I see that you have spent a lot of time explaining almost everything. But the only thing that lacks is the BBcode that can make your guide super eye catching. Indeed you have used some BBcode but not that much.
Overall your guide is very decent

You are pretty damn right about it and I would love t have more BBcode in my guide. However, I am just to busy to do that cause I recently started my PhD and I barely can even update the build. I will try to look forward it anyway. Thanks for your comment:)
Qss is also very valuable vs high cc comps
Regarding Essence Reaver, I must say that it is necessary for a smooth early game. If you would be able to regenerate your mana pool without going back then you have a higher chance of ganking as well as more farming opportunities.
As for death’s dance, first we need to calculate the damage coming from alpha strike:
165 + 100% * 485 (AD) + 0.6 * 485 (AD) = 941 and then multiply by 4 = 3764
Then DD heals 15% and it is 33% effective for AOE so we have 0.15*0.33*3764 = 186
This may sounds not much but you have to consider two facts here:
1. You do multiple alpha strikes in team fights which can increase this healing to double, triple or even four times more.
2. What would you get from bloodthirster? An additional 5% more healing, 1200(crit)*0.05 = 60, which is only one third of the healing coming from alpha strike. Furthermore, the shield works only when you are at full health bar (not to mention that it is more expensive).
Finally, you need to pay attention that this build is all about synergy. With DD, you get 10% CDR which helps you to land more alpha strikes, meaning more healing, more AOE damage and untargetable period. Thus, I would prefer DD over bloodthirster in the case of master yi.
As long as you have the runes for speed it should be ok, other than that you might feel the need for a pair of shoes which will occupy one of your item's slot.
Warrior into phantom dancer is much stronger and going the cdr in my opinion is a waste,
Blade of the ruined king is also a waste as no matter how high hp your targets have (Unless troll hp builds) You will always do more damage building more damage due to critical strikes.
Also even if you hit a 4000 damage alpha strike on 4 targets, you only heal 198 health from the
I agree that bloodrazer is not a decent item but it is the only option to go as a jungler and it cannot be replaced by any other jungle items or normal items since you gonna get all those attack speed items later. Besides, I don't think that it is waste of money since you get benefit from every aspect of this item. It provides you a good amount of attack speed which is in line with all master yi abilities and it is kinda a must for him. Furthermore, its passive is also not that bad specially in jungle to speed up your farming. Finally, as I mentioned in the guide, you have to change this item with Hydra in late game. So I think at least we agree on that one.
I agree that phantom dancer is a strong item as I you can see I included into the set, but as either final item or the third item (change the order with statikk shiv). On the other hand, I believe that Trinity Force completely waste of money for master yi for many reasons. First of all you gain mana which is useless in the presence of Essence Reaver. Second, there is no use for its passive since you gonna go for 100% critical strike chance and as we know they don't stack. Finally, the CDR that comes from it is also useless since you are gaining 20% CDR for free from Essence Reaver since you are building up critical strike chance. and its movement speed can be easily compensated by phantom dancer and statikk shiv.
Blade of the ruined king is an alternative option for those who have not used to use Hydra's passive every 10 seconds. Yet, its attack speed and life steal is very useful.
Death's Dance has been chosen in this build for 2 reasons. First, since you are targeting for 40% CDR you can use your alpha strike more often. Hence Death's Dance can make your alpha strikes even more useful. Imagine a team fight, you probably will use your alpha strike around for times with this amount of CDR and attack speed. Thus, 4 times 198 would be 792 and considering that master has less than 2000 health in this set it can be very crucial for him to survive. Second, it completes your CDR while gives you great amount of AD and another nice passive that can let you survive after a duel by killing a few minions around.
To be honest, I believe that any items that cannot enhance your abilities are useless and waste of money, since a champion has been defined by its abilities. In our case, master yi, all you need to sharpen your abilities are attack speed, critical chance, attack damage, and life steel. (and of course CDR and mana to use your abilities more often:)) Therefore, any sort of armor health and magic resist cannot be as efficient as what I mentioned for him.
