I guarantee you 100% that he is going to be banned by every single idiot out there on release, because they are too (scared / dumb) to play (him / against him), fearing he is OP. Same deal happened with 
Kled, Aurelion Sol and Jhin. Perhaps Sol was a bit ridiculous, but the other two certainly weren't q.q

tbh, If I was still playing, I would ban him because either I wouldn't trust my teammates not to suck with him or to troll people wanting to pick him depending on how tryhard I am feeling

Isn't the whole goal of Normal Games to learn how to play the champ? I can understand banning Yorick in ranked for the reasons you state, but doing it in normal games is outright unfair. Would you ban Rengar, Swain or ANY other champion if you knew it was that summoner's first time playing them?

I wouldn't ban him because I'm scared my teammate will feed with him or an enemy will take advantage of how OP he is, but I might (I generally don't, I agree w you that ppl should be let to practice in norms) ban him because I'm unfamiliar with his abilities/how to play against him if he's a new champion or reworked champion. Then again that's my own fault for not bothering to read anything or watch any vids before the champs get released, I still dunno what Sol or Kled's abilities do, only know about Jhin because I've played him myself.
On a side note, I haven't been able to play league post-Yorick update, how does he fare? Is he annoying, OP, both or neither?

He's alright. He can absolutely vomit out damage in short little bursts, but other than that he's fairly manageable. The ghouls are more of a nuance than important when it comes to pushing lane, but they do the deeps if seriously left alone.
