This is a great guide. I'd previously used it before I took a break from LoL, but just rediscovered it. It makes for great fun roflstomping the bots in Co-op vs. AI, as well. In my most recent game, I went 58-0-5. =P
Regardless of its effectiveness in bot games, it works quite well in normal games. +1 from me!

I use this guide in ranked and everything. its pure awesome. I sucked with swain until I read ALL of this build. I changed the masteries a little. I found dodge to be useless on swain. but other than that... good build. :D

Yeah, i know zonyas is a great item :D. But when i wrote this guide that item had just come out and i didn't have time to test it out.

I will uptate this guide when i get around to it. And zonyas will be one of the items in there ;D

very good build but maybe instead of that last item, not that it isn't good i totally agree but i would like u to consider zhonyas hourglass because of the armor if there are too many dps's and the you can activate it with ult for an instant invulnerability just saying :)

I made an account just to say how much I love this build. I tried your original with large success, and then tried the item set posted on the first page comments, and I found your much better. Having the SV that late is a little odd, but it works.

Well Swain is a really strong solo laner, and i admit he needs lvl advantage. But some combos like taric+swain is just to op to letdown :)

Well i never seem to need any more mana than RoA and Bluebuff. But then it comes down to personal playstyle.

Well i mostly try to get items that boost my ability power also, but i try to find the sweet balance betweeen tank and mage, haven't played him so mutch latley and i need to test out new builds :)

Glad that you vote +1 :) I hear from many people that they change items to a Deathcap ^^ Some people want more dmg and i don't blame them, the important thing is that you don't only go AP and forget the important resistance and health. (I have laughed at to many archangel swains ^^)

Ehh, I have to give this +1. For those rare occasions when I'm not doing so well, this build keeps me from dying too often. I still believe Swain should be played as a caster, though :s Substituting GA for deathcap still has that effect.
