Won't you update the guide? ;-; This is the best guide of Jhin in mobafire, bur has been without updates for a while now :/

Because of the 9.3 update, shouldn't Jhin not start with stormrazor since it is most powerful after other zeal items? Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like Rapid Firecannon would be a much better pick. Just my opinion though.

Uh 9.3 isn't even out yet, it's hard to gauge the strength of items.

I do know that it's unlikely RFC as a first item will be good. I think it'll be IE/ER or maybe even back to lethality. Storm will no longer be a rush item for sure, but it'll be a late game choice if you choose Statikk Shiv.

My guess is IE > RFC > ER > Shiv > Storm as the "dont need defence and want maximum damage" build. The last 2 items being situational. Shiv for 100% crit, Storm if you go shiv, BT if you need lifesteal, GA if you need the defence, LDR/MR if u need the pen and PD if you need both crit and defence.

Until I get my hands on the items in ranked games, I can't suggest the best items no one can.

As of right now is DH or HoB better? Im getting mixed results.

Dark Harvest in every situation that you would be using HoB in.

The problem with HoB is a few patches ago they made it so it didn't trigger on the first attack (which it before) making it so you pretty much only get 2 empowered shots instead of 3. Then they changed it again to make it so your 2nd/3rd and 4th shots get empowered.

Issue is you would literally need to fire all 4 shots without interruption for that to be good.

Dark Harvest on the other hand is way more consistent as it can proc off of abilities and can be done 100% of the time when someone gets below 50% making it just more reliable.

Jhin also prefers a damage keystone over a safe one (hence why Fleet isn't the spice right now)

Ok so i'm sure someone else has commented or asked this and honestly I'm just too lazy to go looking through, so i'm sorry to make you repeat the answer to this question.
Why got the whole route of fleet footwork over hail of blades. I know this is a common meta for jhin currently so I was really curious as to the thought put into that.

Vicious Skittle (57) | November 15, 2018 12:50am
Hail of blades got nerfed/"fixed" to the point of it being the worst choice in most situations.

Oh wow I didn't know that bit of information. Thank you. With that in mind i shall return to this style rune page then. THank you

Great build and item kits. I found your guide very detailed and will help me clean up a few small mistakes I've been making with Laning decisions based on his abilities. The one thing I have trouble with is he is slow in the early game and I keep being paired with Rambo supports. I find I face Lucian, MF or varus. I can usually stay alive but I can't seem to finish off the kills and my support either doesn't help or attacks in poor situations. Any suggestions on early game play to finish off kills? Primarily before I hit level 6.

Should I switch to fleet after the hail of blades nerf? I'm seeing a lot of pro players making the switch/ Thought?
1
Vicious Skittle (57) | October 9, 2018 3:26pm
Uh the patch hasn't hit yet so I'm unsure of the actual gravity of the nerf as it was a bug fix.

I *think* fleet will become better, but it will take a good week of testing to figure out if the bug fix will affect him enough to swap back to precision.

Wouldn't it be nice that jhins passive could have an immediate reload from killing an enemy champ or something like that?
1
Vicious Skittle (57) | October 9, 2018 3:26pm
Would be a huge buff that he doesn't really need.

The only buffs I would consider is lowering his crit penality on Whisper.

Is Fleet Footwork good on Jhin anymore? I feel like it would be a good idea if you know you're going to have a rough game and need the healing...
Love your guide btw, the attention to detail is beyond what I expected!

Since the ranged nerf to Fleet Footwork against minion, there is basically no point in picking it up over the domination tree.

Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter both pull similar healing numbers to fleet in the mid-late game and heal for a lot more in the early game. Then, Hail of Blades will scale your damage much higher whilst also making you a lot more mobile.

If HoB got a nerf, or the passive AS ratio of Whisper got changed then maybe fleet will come back, but at the moment your only real option is Hail of Blades

Very nice guide! I really enjoyed reading it.
Was very helpful in learning to understand the champion better.
Gave me a lot of insight on how to play as and against Jhin!
Great work!

Love all the input that you gave on how to build up a perfect Jhin, as I am doing right now. When I was purchasing runes I noticed that you suggest to take 9 Seals of Armor, when each Seal costs only a 102 IP. I'm wondering if 9 seals at 820 IP each of all other benefits take my toon at a much higher ability. Please explain how spending 981 IP on Armor is more beneficial than spending 7380 IP on all the other beneficial abilities for the 9 rune slots. The armor seal Runes don't stack per each slot which means you are spending only 102 IP per Rune slot. It all doesn't seem to make sense to me. That Riot sells Runes at 820 IP that are less beneficial then a rune that's worth 102 IP. Please explain. Thanks in advance.

Can't really build a champion based on IP prices for runes. Some of the more expensive runes are better for certain champions. But Armor seals are very standard choices for most champions and that is probably why they're cheap, it's a simple build choice that RIOT knows most players will want. The more expensive runes tend to be for more specialized build strategies.

Vapora is right, the pricing for a lot of things that are IP based makes no sense in this game.

Thanks Much.

Vapora Dark (625) | April 7, 2017 2:16am
It straight up makes no sense. Rune costs used to be way too high all around the board, so Riot eventually greatly reduced the cost of the most important runes: but left the rest intact 'cuz reasons. They've had well over a year to reduce the cost of the rest of the runes too but they choose not to.

Studs | April 7, 2017 3:07pm
Thanks, you make sense of what didn't seem to make sense. Simple sense to me meant a rune that costs 820 IP meant more to a build out then a Rune that cost 102 IP. As many 820 IP Runes regardless of the class sure can use better Health regeneration, Crit damage etc etc. Thanks to Vicious & yourself I am taking the cost of Runes out of the equation. I'll have the Filet Mignon at the Ground Beef price.
